OVENIA Hostelling International SloveniaHostelling International Slovenia (HI Slovenia) is the only national representative of Slovenia in the International Youth Hostel Federation (Hostelling International – HI). HI is a non-governmental and non-profit organization active in about 90 countries in the world. The organization works closely together with UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization), WTO (World Tourism Organization) and other important international organization – also it was proclaimed the sixth largest organization that offers overnighting. With 4 million members it is one of the largest youth organizations in the world and is the only network of youth hostels with about 4.000 objects for spending the night, 1.5 million beds and 30-40 overnight stays annually.

HI has high standards for youth hostels, based on the treatment of the guests, security, cleanliness and privacy. But it is not its only role. Since it was established in 1932 it encourages young people for better intercultural understanding through informal education and peace, global friendship and environmentalism. The international organization, with a strong support of its national members, it offers interaction among youth of various nationalities and cultures, exchange of experience, getting to know their peers and after all themselves.

For this the organization has international programs for youth, above all the ones with lesser chances, through which we spread the mission of Hostelling International, which remained the same since 1932:

To promote the education of all young people of all nations, but especially young people of limited means, by encouraging in them a greater knowledge, love and care of the countryside and an appreciation of the cultural values of towns and cities in all parts of the world, and as ancillary thereto, to provide hostels or other accommodation in which there shall be no distinctions of race, nationality, colour, religion, sex, class or political opinions and thereby to develop a better understanding of their fellow men, both at home and abroad.

HI Slovenia, with more than 40 hostels around Slovenia, ensures safe, budget friendly and quality boarding for all types of groups. This includes the educational field trips with various themes (history, art or language courses) as well as extracurricular activities for schools, students, sporting and other groups – or simply friends who want a joint active holiday.

Hostel Radenci is located near the bus station, supermarket, post office, bank, on the right side of the street Radgona – Radenci and you can see it is over the railway. You can get to the hostel by car in direction Boračeva-Prisojna Street or Kapelski Vrh.

There are 60 rooms in the hostel. Most of them are double rooms, some of them are triple rooms. There are collective bathrooms for 4 or 6 rooms. The guests can use: fitness, outdoor playground, multimedia classrooms for big or small groups and a multipurpose hall with the stage for cultural events, seminars, special meals and other meetings. We can organize a rent of the sport hall for recreation (near school), organize rafting on Mura river, swimming in the Health Resort Radenci. Besides staying in nice rooms the guests can have the breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. We can also accept and accommodate big groups (100 people). We also offer group discounts (negotiable).


Hostel Radenci is located in the centre of the spa Radenci. The Health Resort Radenci is the story about water, which bare the name of this place as the image of three hearts all over the world. The health resort became famous in the 19th century, it was due to Karl Henn who discovered the spring the mineral water. First guests visited the health resort in 1882. Today the health resort is boasting about the high quality offer. Radenci was developed on the Radenci field, embraced between Mura river and the vineyards of Slovene Wineyards. The place with its surrounding, in the area of Prlekija is famous for mineral water springs. With its rich history, natural heritage and cultural sights Radenci is a real paradise for relaxation. There are lots of options for recreation in the intact nature of northwest part of Slovenia, which borders on Austria, Hungary and Croatia.

Health Resort RadenciHealth Resort Radenci attract to Radenci numerous guests. With water park, sightseeing of the mineral water springs, health tourism, and cultural events in health resort take care for the promotion of the place and the guests who are staying in Radenci.

River MuraRiver Mura is a bording river between Prekmurje and Prlekija. Its flow is beautiful and vitally variegated. The branches of river Mura – backwater, tenders the residence for rare animal and plant species. You can take a raft/ a boat to get down the river and its waves, and you can also take a ferry from the right to the left side of the river.

Above the mineral water springsAbove the mineral water springs the hills of Kapela vineyards are spreading out in front of us which tender a beautiful views on the landscape along river Mura with its famous round wine cellar and the baroque church St. Mary Magdalene on Kapelski Vrh. The place is also famour for the legendary Attila the Hun – Attila trail. The Forest of Trees in Love is located at the foot of Kapelski Vrh. In the forest the treetops are interwoven with each other.

Secondary School for Catering and Tourism RadenciHostel Radenci is a part of Secondary School for Catering and Tourism Radenci. SŠGT Radenci have been educating the students for working in catering and tourism for 50 years are still doing our best to be in pride of this place on the frindge of Slovenia. We are educating the students for being: technician for gastronomy and tourism, gastronomer, technician for gastronomy. For the students, pupils, the groups and the guests of the hoste we organiza the workshops on topic healthy way of life.

Gornja Radgona Gornja Radgona, (bording city) is a city of fairs (International Fair of Agriculture and Food Agra) and the sparkling wine (Radgona Gold sparkling wine). The city is 6km away from Radenci and in direction to Austria.

Other sightsOn the both sides of river Mura there are lots of other sights and options for recreation. Horse riding club Zaton – Petanjci enables riding the horses and camping for the groups; every year in May traditional Marathon of Three Hearts takes place in Radenci; the oil mill Kocbek in Stara Gora is also available to be seen; Babič’ mill is also interesting and worth to see, as well as Center Duo in Veržeh, more and more, more information available: www.ztsradenci.si.
