The Following are Several ways to get Peak Performance and Keep this vacuum in great shape!
Always Wrap your Vacuum Cord like this!
Never wrap your vacuum cord in a figure eight. This damages the cord and will cause you to have to replace the vacuum cord due to damage! Wrap It in a circle and attach with the provided strap as shown!
If your Vacuum Cord does become tangled, extend the cord in an open room all the way out. Swing the cord in a circular motion from the back as shown by the arrow until the cord becomes straight and smooth. Take the vacuum cord and wrap in a circle now!
The Hoover Portapower has the best power when the vacuum hose is securely attached. If your hose ever becomes loose after years of use, take a piece of thin cardboard wrap over the top of the hose as shown on left and attach the hose as normal to the vacuum as shown on right. You’ll notice its tough to attach but it creates a great seal for extra SUCTION POWER!
Vacuum Suddenly Lost Suction
1) Make sure bag is empty2) Detach hose turn on Vacuum and put your hand up against the hole. See if you can pull the vacuum towards you, if so Suction on Vacuum is fine. So Next
3) Attach hose to back of vacuum as shown on Left. Turn on the vacuum and you’ll probably blow something out (maybe a caught sock….) Before doing this, make sure you have your door open and hose pointing outside, as dust will come blowing out also.
4) Check the wand make sure nothing caught
5) Might have to stick a pole through hose if something is jammed (last resort)
6 ) You might need a new hose. If the hose has tiny holes it will prevent the vacuum from having top suction power!

Never Store your Canister Vacuum with the Hose attached to the vacuum as shown.
This puts unnecessary stress on the hose. This can cause your hose to get holes easier and begins to ware out the area you attach the hose to.
Yikes don’t store hose attached EVER!

If vacuuming corners or furniture, as mentioned in previous slide don’t pull the hose more than needed. Sometimes instead of attaching tools to the wand, you might find it easier to attach to the hose for more flexibility.

1) Never Vacuum any Moisture, this will ruin you vacuum! 2) Empty your bag OFTEN!
