Hitler Comes To Power
“Hitler comes to power” relates to the book because Anna’s Family is
Jewish. Anna’s family moves to Switzerland before Hitler comes to
power. Anna’s family becomes separated because Anna’s Father
has to leave first. Her Father was a very important Jewish man. Hitler
wanted to gather all the Jews, especially the Jews with political power or that are important and
speck out against Hitler.

This relates to the book because, while Anna’s family was staying at the motel, a
German family came over the summer. The kids were playing with Anna and Max, then their
Mother came out. She said that her children were forbidden to play with Anna and Max just
because they were Jewish. The German family was also a big
supporter of Hitler and the Nazis.

School / Education
• School / education relates to my book because, Anna and Max were allowed to go to school during World War II. This was interesting because Jewish kids weren’t allowed to go to school during the war.

Family Death
• Death of a family member relates to this book because Anna’s Onkle Julius committed suicide because he was Jewish. So he could not go to the zoo any more. Onkel Julius was an environmentalist and loved to go to the zoo. Since he was forbidden to go to the zoo, he took his own life.

Star Of David• This relates to my book
because the Jewish people had to wear it when Hitler was in power. But, luckily Anna and her family was smart and fast enough they could escape before anything serious happened.

Anna’s Father was given a price on his head by Hitler and the Nazis, to be caught and taken to Germany.
A Porter grabs all their stuff, and takes them to a train that is suppose to take them to Paris, France. But the porter had a greedy mind, and put them on a train to Germany, to get the prize money.
Luckily, Anna saw that they were on a train to Germany, and got them and all, but one piece of luggage, off the train and to the real train to Paris, France.
