Ministry Involvement: Passion Play, Mission Trip, Kairos, Peer Ministry, Spirit Camp, Faith on Fire Plans after Graduation: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Systems Engineering, Design/Pre-Med Senior Reflection: As I have grown up Holy Family has become more and more of a second home to me. It’s a place where I constantly find myself connecting with strangers, laughing with friends, and discovering more about my faith. I will miss having a physical place to go to during hard times but I’m thankful for everything Holy Family has taught me about myself.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos Plans after Graduation: Boston College, Neuroscience Senior Reflection: Holy Family has been my academic and religious home since I enrolled in the academy in kindergarten. This building has become my second home, a place of peace and tranquility. The Holy Family community is something I’ll miss because I’ll no longer be physically surrounded by so many caring individuals.

Ministry Involvement: GLOW, Passion Play, EM, Tech Crew, Kairos Plans after Graduation: University of Iowa Senior Reflection: The most special aspect of our church is the huge acrylic cross and every time I see that I feel serene and comfortable. I’m going to miss my GLOW family and passion play. I’ve grown in my faith by being part of kairos. My faith grew so much in just a short 4 days and paved the way for me joining GLOW which made my faith even stronger. Shout out to Greg for helping me with my GLOW talk, that was the best experience I have ever had.

Ministry Involvement: Spirit Camp, Flame Plans after Graduation: University of Iowa, Sports Marketing Senior Reflection: My small group that I was a part of for 4 years was one of the best parts about growing in my faith. I had wonderful catechists and peers who I’ve known my whole life, so it was amazing being able to go on that journey with them by my side. I will miss everybody who made it so special for me, and thankful for everything I learned along the way that I can take with me for years to come.

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, Kairos & Kairos leadership, 3 mission trips, Faith on Fire, Spirit Camp, Table and Light, One in Love, St. Lenard’s House, 7 Passion Plays, Stations of the Cross Plans after Graduation: University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Psychology Senior Reflection: I grew up playing in the crawl spaces of Holy Family. Holy Family has always been a safe place for me and as I grew up and got more involved I found the community. I am going to miss exploring around the church with friends on retreats, I am going to miss mass in the teen section, and I am going to miss hanging out in the teen center the most. Holy Family is so special and it will be hard to find a church like this in Nebraska.

Ministry Involvement: Passion play, kairos, spirit camp, loft crew Plans after Graduation: University of Iowa, Business Senior Reflection: When I was with God at church nothing else seemed to matter the way it does outside of church. As harsh as it sounds I don’t think I’ll miss holy family as a place but the people within mostly. I’m fortunate enough to have learned from so many people at holy family the ability to see god almost everywhere I go. So many people guided me along the way but Bernie Rupe is who was with me almost every step. He’s taught me there’s a lot more to church than just god and it’s something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ministry Involvement: RCIA, K27 retreatant, K29 leader, ncyc, faith on fire, 4th days, drop in nights Plans after Graduation: University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Senior Reflection: Holy family brought me closer to god, not only through baptism last spring at the Easter vigil, yet it also made me realize that the whole community is a physical representation of God’s love. This family has made me cry far too many times, most of them tears of joys, but even with all that, I’m forever grateful for my kairos family and especially the leaders and adult leaders in our church that have inspired me every day to push harder towards being the best I can possibly be.

Every person that I've encountered at Holy Family has positively shaped me. Heading off to college, I definitely want to keep all the close friendships I've made and I will greatly miss the warm sense of community at Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos Plans after Graduation: Grand Valley State University, Finance Senior Reflection: I will miss the whole Holy Family community because I have learned that there is nothing like what Holy Family has to offer. I absolutely loved all that I experienced at my short time at Holy Family before I leave for college. Kairos was such a huge life changing event and every mass hasn’t failed to learn so much about myself and my faith.

I will also miss the teen masses and going with my best friends. Holy Family is a home away from home because of all the people involved, the adults as much as the teens:))

I know that every time I walk through those doors, I have nothing to worry about and everything to be thankful for. The Holy Family community has meant so much to me in my life. I’d grown up going to church every Sunday at Holy Family, and now that I’m a teen I’ve experienced so much more that I‘m so grateful for.

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry (FLAME), Kairos, GLOW, Mission trip, EM, Journeys Plans after Graduation: Northern Illinois University, Nursing, Sociology, Deaf Studies Senior Reflection: Holy Family helped me to better understand myself as a person, and my relationship with God. Through the ministries I've participated in, I've learned how to push past what I thought was possible for myself, physically and mentally. Being able to reflect on how I've grown after the two short years that it's been since I joined Holy Family from my first parish, I can honestly say that the people I've met and the things that I've accomplished have changed me and my life forever.

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, GLOW and Kairos Plans after Graduation: University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Nursing Senior Reflection: Holy Family has an amazing youth and teen program. I have been blessed with amazing religious education leaders, including Mrs. Kozlowski, Mrs. Hagan and Bernie, who have inspired and strengthened my relationship with God, Jesus and the Catholic Church. Life as a teen has many challenges. I Have always found comfort and complete acceptance within the Holy Family community. As I transition to college, I have faith that my catholic beliefs and education will continue to guide my choices and help assure a successful future nursing career.

I have met so many great people who have helped me grow in so many ways. I will miss seeing everybody who has helped me throughout my faith journey. All of the wonderful friends and opportunities I’ve had have brought me closer to God, helped me grow and find happiness, and shown me who I am and who I want to be. Thanks to all the friends and mentors I’ve had for guiding me on my continued faith journey! I’ll miss the loving community of Holy Family, but I will always carry that love with me wherever I go.

Dominic Tuzzolino Ministry Involvement: Peer ministry, kairos, faith on fire, drop in Plans after Graduation: Undecided, Marketing Senior Reflection: Coming into holy family I was unsure about my faith. Having a role model like Joan Sloan helped me find my faith and because of her I have my own relationship with God. I understand what my faith means to me and I will always be grateful for the experiences I had at Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Faith on Fire, Kairos Plans after Graduation: DePaul University, Cybersecurity Senior Reflection: One thing that is special to me at the time i’ve been at holy family is the way people treat each other, It’s like no other. When I walked through the doors at holy family, I felt nervous but was quickly diminished of that nervousness by the smiles and welcoming of my peers. One person who I’d love to thank is Ryan Kiolbassa because he lead me to this great church and to continue bringing smiles to others.

Department, Spirit Camp, Journeys, Chicago Voyagers, PADS Plans after Graduation: Loyola, Healthcare & Business Administration Senior Reflection: I think what I’ve both enjoyed the most, and will miss the most about Holy Family, is that it truly is a family in every way. I’ve met so many lifelong friends throughout my faith journey, and while this last year didn’t end as well as I would have hoped, I at least know that my friends and family at Holy Family have given me memories to last a lifetime.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos (K1 at St. Nicks Parish in Evanston), GLOW, Faith on Fire Plans after Graduation: University of Notre Dame, Economics, Spanish Senior Reflection: Holy Family allowed me to discover my faith for the first time. When I attended K26, I instantly felt like I was a part of the family here. Even though I had almost no prior experience with religion of any kind, Holy Family took me in with open arms. I am forever thankful for my K26 leaders, Anne Bosslet, and the rest of the community. I will greatly miss the entire Holy Family.

Erin Cunningham

Ministry Involvement: Peer ministry, passion play, kairos, GLOW, NCYC, Faith on Fire, and EM Plans after Graduation: Lewis University, Aviation Administration Senior Reflection: Holy family has been my home for the last 18 years. The people there have watched me grow and guided me and supported me with my faith journey with all of its ups and downs. I have grown to be a leader with all of the opportunities available. I have been inspired by the adults in my life and the children I have worked with and shared with their faith journeys. By working with my own faith class and my GLOW small group I have been more passionate about the meaning of faith and I’m how Jesus presents himself to us. I see Jesus with Melanie Tomal a family friend that has guided me through my faith class to confirmation. She is always a listening ear and helps me get through doubts I have in my faith.

Heather Sloan

Ministry Involvement: Kairos Leadership, Faith on Fire, Spirit Camp, Drop-in nights, Service Trip to Costa Rica Plans after Graduation: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Social Work, Spanish Senior Reflection: There are so many things I’m going to miss about Holy Family. This place has given me a family. I’ve never been part of a church community like the one I’ve been apart of here. Being able to be a Kairos leader on K29 was the best experience of my life. I learned the impact I can have on people and how incredible it is to see God move within people. I was able to see people grow in their faith in ways I couldn’t have imagined while I also was able to grow in my faith. Being a Kairos leader gave me a group of teens that always inspire me to be better christians and better people. And of course through Holy Family I was able to meet my best friend, Ryan Kiolbassa, my fellow G5 leader. Holy Family will always have my heart and will always be my home. I’m going to cherish every memory I’ve made here and I will continue to talk about how amazing this place is for the rest of my life. I’m also so glad I could experience Kairos and being part of the Holy Family community with my awesome mon, Joan Sloan, by my side through it all. She has kept me connected to Holy Family and I’m so grateful for that.

Ministry Involvement: Passion Play, Kairos Plans after Graduation: College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, Business, Tennis Senior Reflection: Holy Family has allowed me to deepen my faith through surrounding myself with positive role models who portray God every single day. Holy Family has become my home where I know I can look to God for direction and I can be myself.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos 29 Plans after Graduation: University of Wisconsin – Madison, Computer Science, Graphic Design Senior Reflection: K29 touched a special place in my heart. I got to connect with other people and felt an overwhelming sense of love I’ve been longing for. I experienced God’s presence in a profound way and got to build my relationship with Him through this retreat. I’ll be forever grateful for g5 and everyone else on k29 for such an incredibly unique experience :)

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, Kairos, Mission Trip, NCYC, Faith on Fire, Drop in, Spirit Camp, Pastoral Council, and Uprising at Fremd High School Plans after Graduation: University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Pre-Med/ PA Track Senior Reflection: Holy Family has completely changed my faith life. The people I have met here have helped me on my journey of forming my relationship with God and I will forever be so grateful for being able to be so involved in Holy Family Teen Faith. This journey for me all began with my amazing catechist, Joan Sloan. From 7th grade when I first joined her faith class, she opened a door for me into a faith life I didn’t even know I had. I cannot wait to continue growing my faith at Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, Kairos leadership, Faith on Fire, EM, and Spirit Camp Plans after Graduation: University of Iowa, Elementary Education Senior Reflection: For as long as I can remember my entire Sunday was spent at Holy Family, and going to a different church is going to be so hard. I spent my senior year preparing for Kairos which also meant becoming best friends with the whole leadership team. Some of my favorite high school memories are eating snacks in the narthex, singing along with the band, making matching shirts, and even sleeping on the teen center floor. I feel so blessed to have grown up at Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, Kairos Leadership, Faith on Fire, Drop In, NCYC Plans after Graduation: Purdue, Engineering Senior Reflection: Holy Family was like a second home to me for most of my life. Between attending the academy during the school year and helping with spirit camp during the summer I spent an incredible amount of time at Holy Family before I turned 13. Through this I felt the impact of the community and knew that I wanted to continue my involvement at Holy Family into my teen years. It’s odd to me to be leaving Holy Family when it’s been my rock and home for so long.

Ministry Involvement: Mission trip, Kairos, and catechism Plans after Graduation: Marquette University, Nursing Senior Reflection: I have been very fortunate in growing up in this church, faith classes as a kid all the way up to high school were essential in my faith. Along with the relationships I've made with my catechist and classmates, the amount I learned about my own faith and others' was what made faith class a highlight of my week. I will always be impressed about the inclusivity this church demonstrates and the overall love felt just by walking through the doors.

Ministry Involvement: AV Loft Plans after Graduation: University of Maryland-College Park, Journalism Senior Reflection: By volunteering in the AV loft, I've been able to see how much hard work goes into making Mass at Holy Family happen. There are so many amazing and talented people here who make this community something truly special. I've been able to make connections and hear a lot of different perspectives on faith and life as a result of staying involved at Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Flame and Ignite Plans after Graduation: University of Notre Dame, Finance Senior Reflection: Holy Family is truly a faith community. Not only does everyone care about you from a religious level, but they also value you outside the walls of Holy Family. I've met so many genuine people at Holy Family, and I will cherish the friendships built for life.

Lucas Kozlowski Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, Kairos, Awaken and Faith on Fire Plans after Graduation: Butler University, Finance Senior Reflection: I truly believe my faith would be a very minimal part of my life had it not been for Holy Family. I think the name says it all, everyone in the church makes you feel like family and I think that is what makes it so special. I can proudly thank my mom for this, Mrs. Hagan, my brother, everyone in my faith class and Kairos. Thank you Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Peer Ministry, Passion Play, Kairos, Faith On Fire, EM, Glow Team, Plans after Graduation: Gardner Webb University, American Sign Language Senior Reflection: If it wasn’t for holy family I wouldn’t have found my way back to god. Through everything they do for the teens I was able to live for god and enjoy my time in high school.

Matthew Conway

Ministry Involvement: Kairos, Mission trip, Clothing drive, Spirit camp volunteer, Fish fry Plans after Graduation: University of Wisconsin-Madison Senior Reflection: Going on the mission trip in 2017 was one of the better decisions I’ve ever made. It was great to venture out of my comfort zone and immerse myself in service and faith. I have grown in my faith as a result of the mission trip by meeting people from around the country who share my beliefs and by growing closer to the people in my parish community.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos, Mission Trip, Faith on Fire Plans after Graduation: Belmont University, Psychology, Elementary Education Senior Reflection: Though I only started attending Holy Family my junior year, they have welcomed me with open arms and given me a family like none other. Through Kairos and other youth ministries I’ve made some of my best friends and created my favorite high school memories. I’ve grown in my faith and as a person and I will forever be grateful for all the people that helped me find my home at Holy Family.

Ministry Involvement: Passion Play and Journeys Plans after Graduation: Marquette, US Army, Digital Art Senior Reflection: I have always felt good coming out of the church, some days I would go in feeling terrible and then I would forget my troubles while there. It is a special place.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos, FoF Plans after Graduation: University of Maryland, Government, Politics Senior Reflection: Holy Family gave me an amazing community of people that I can be vulnerable and truly myself with. Shout out to Mrs Koz, Greg Kaldahl, and THE Joan Sloan.

Ministry Involvement: Flame I and Flame II Plans after Graduation: University of Southern Florida, Nursing Senior Reflection: I miss the teachers at HFCA because they all developed a relationship with their students and made learning easier. I miss the special food days of the week (Subway, Pizza, Pancake, and Hot Dog). The most memorable moment(s) at HFCA was the field trip to Washington DC.

Through flame, ignite, kairos, and being a catechist I have always felt there was a place for me here at Holy Family. Everyone at Holy Family has helped me develop a more personal and connected faith. I will miss most, each and every person that made an impact on me here at Holy Family. Holy Family helped me gain more confidence in both myself and my relationship with God. I will definitely miss sitting in the pews listening to music and gathering in the teen center. I want to give a quick shoutout to Mrs. Koz & Mrs. Hagan for being the best teachers and role models I could’ve ever asked for!

I want to thank the church and the people who made all these experiences possible. I will miss the community aspect most of all.

Ministry Involvement: Kairos, Spirit Camp Plans after Graduation: Michigan State University, Mechanical Engineering Senior Reflection: Holy Family has had a major impact on my relationship with God as well as my relationship with those around me. I have met so many people here that I will forever remember. All of these people have helped me grow my relationship with God. Shoutout to Mrs. Kozlowski and Mrs. Hagan. Without these two, there is no way I would be where I am today.
