Brace yourself for a spirited, once-in-a-lifetime hockey game planned especially for St. Patrick’s Day: the Montréal Canadiens NHL Alumni face off against local favourites, the Fogo Islanders. Root for the stars in the visitors’ box which will feature Canadiens alumni such as Steve Shutt, Chris Nilan,

Stéphan Richer, Patrice Brisebois, Ric Nattress, and Oleg Petrov, or for Fogo Island’s hometown team; either way, you’ll be swept up in the spirit.

DAY 1 - Friday, March 16, 2018

AFTERNOON Arrive on Fogo Island and allow the Island to reveal itself on the 30-minute drive through outport communities as you make your way off to your refuge, Fogo Island Inn. Take time for exploration. Revel in the natural beauty found around every bend.

Check into Fogo Island Inn, a traditional yet contemporary masterpiece of modern architecture and design. The Inn was named as Travel & Leisure’s Best Resort Hotel in Canada, 2017 - among the country’s best hotels from coast to coast.

LATE AFTERNOON Even though it will be difficult to leave the

sumptuous, soulful furnishings and floor to ceiling windows of your suite, do tear yourself away to join us in the Lounge for cocktail hour and Irish tipples.

EVENING Convene in the Dining Room for a traditional

Irish supper prepared by Chef Jonathan Gushue and Fogo Island Inn’s talented culinary team.

LATE EVENING Tap your toes and lift your heels to live Irish

folk tunes and musical entertainment in the Lounge, or enjoy a specially selected program of Irish films screened in the Inn's 37-seat Cinema.

DAY 2 – Saturday, March 17, 2018 DAYBREAK Greet the sun as she rises and find a

handmade wooden daybreak box outside your door filled with coffee, tea and fresh pastries. Linger.

MORNING Breakfast is served in the Dining Room at

your leisure. 10 AM Having sated yourself at breakfast and

gathered your energy, find yourself engaged in a variety of outdoor activities or excursions through a landscape that has remained remarkably unchanged since the arrival of the very first Irish settlers. Or spend your morning relaxing at the Inn: unwind in our sauna or gym, enjoy a hot beverage and a good book in the Library or opt for personal time in your suite.

DINNER (LUNCH) Lunch is served back at Fogo Island Inn. AFTERNOON A Community Host will share the luck of the

Irish with you during a guided architectural tour of the National Historic Site of Tilting. Observe coastal fisher’s houses built according to an Irish-influenced Island vernacular, and be prepared for fresh perspectives and insights, stories and laughter during your half-day outing. Become oriented to this “salty Narnia” by the people of the place who have retained their 400 year-old heritage, and whose sense of self comes from deep historical ties to landscape and seascape: people who are profoundly at home on this “edge of the known.

4 PM Community meet-and-greet with local favourites and visiting hockey stars at the Fogo Island Central Academy.

EVENING Enjoy an early supper served in the Dining

Room, where the provenance of every menu is inspired by local and regional ingredients. Everything coming out of the kitchen is handmade – sausage, bread, baked goods, bacon and mustards.

8 PM The puck drops the Iceberg Arena for the big

game: watch the visiting Montréal Canadiens NHL Alumni take on the Fogo Islanders; cheer for the stars on the visitors’’ bench or the hometown heroes and catch the spirit.

DAY 3 – Sunday, March 18, 2018 DAYBREAK Enjoy your departing daybreak box from the

comfort of your suite. Linger. DEPARTURE Fortify yourself for your journey home with a

farewell breakfast in the Dining Room.

Depart for a twenty-minute drive to the ferry terminal or travel a shorter distance to Fogo Island’s helicopter and air charter landing strip.
