in the Philadelphia area

can see an HIV specialist,

regardless of their ability to pay.

HIV specialists are medical providers who:

See a lot of people living with HIV/AIDS (at least 20 in the

last 2 years)

Keep up to date on HIV treatment

changes

Regular dental care is important for

people living with HIV/ AIDS

It is recommended that everyone

visit a dentist every six months.

This is especially important for

people living with HIV/AIDS, because:

Gum disease causes an ongoing infection that stresses the immune

system

Symptoms of side effects and

opportunistic infections (OIs) can

appear in the mouth
