SPOTLIGHT LENIHAN SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTYAs the Sotheby’s International Realty® brand continues to push video to the forefront of our marketing efforts, Lenihan Sotheby’s International Realty, located in Lousiville, Kentucky, was faced with a challenge.

"Do we provide video as a free service to our agents, or do we leave it up to them to find, schedule and work with freelance videographers? Another issue was whether to do property videos on every new listing, or just over a certain price point.”

Here is what they came up with:

"We looked at our photography budget, and realized that we had some wiggle room to bring photography (and now videography) in-house. We had a hard time finding someone that did both well. We got a lot of resumes from people that had either worked for TV stations for years but had never touched an SLR, or wedding photographers that had no videography or real estate photography experience. It can be tricky finding someone with experience in still photography and video.

We provide videos on homes that are listed above $500,000 which makes sense for our marketplace. If the property is truly unique or is on several acres, we will shoot aerial videography (and photos) from our quadcopter that's equipped with a GoPro.

Without question, our agents are winning listings because of our high quality photography and elegant videos. Our agents love sharing their listing videos on Facebook, and we're always amazed at the number of views that we are seeing across Wellcomemat, Facebook and YouTube. We get several hundred views on most of our videos, with some of them having thousands of views.”
