Local artist Jasmine Mansbridge presents paintings and installations that visually explore geometric forms in rich hues as a metaphor for her own experiences.

Having spent much of her childhood in the Northern Territory, she takes influence in her work from Australian Aboriginal heritage and landscapes, giving her work an iconic textural element.

Of her work she explains:“I am fascinated by the connection between thoughts, and how they can be visualised and then physically represented. In this exhibition I am exploring this idea trough the use of 2d and 3d elements such as structures, shapes, organic forms and empty space. These works are designed to stimulate and ‘hold a

thought’.

“When I am thinking I like to stop sometimes and ask myself, how would this thought look? I would like to be able to grab hold of the interest of my audience and ‘hold’ their thoughts via my artwork.”
