You are going to stay and live in a country different from yours; it would be for the best to arm yourself with all the needed papers to legally settle abroad. Moving to another country entails administrative task. Unless you want to spend time in jail for “forgetting” a vital certificate, then you better take those documents with you.

SET YOUR BUDGET

From the moment you process your documents, to arriving at the airport down to looking for accommodations and living there, you will need a lot of cash. You can’t go around and live comfortably without money, so better yet, study the cost of living and make sure that you have enough money for daily expenses, emergencies and extra budget for other fees that you may have to pay when you get there.

LEARN TO SPEAK THEIR LANGUAGE

At least six months before you go, start learning the basics of their language and when you get there continue studying. It would help you get used to it easily if you practice speaking the language on a daily basis. Make sure you commit yourself and put effort in learning it. It is not easy but in the long run you will benefit from it.

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

Just because you spent so much time researching doesn’t mean that everything will go as planned. The moment you step into a foreign land anything can go wrong, you can be misinterpreted even when you’re at your best behavior. It will save your life if you remain calm and keep your presence of mind.
