HEARTSAVER (FIRST-AID & CPR)

COURSE OVERVIEWHeartsaver First Aid & CPR AED (Cardiopulmonary Automated External De�brillator) is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches participants critical skills needed to respond to and manage a �rst aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the �rst few minutes until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrives.

COURSE OBJECTIVES• Describe the assessment and �rst aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, di�culty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke.• Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child.• Demonstrate how to help a choking infant.• Control bleeding and bandaging.• Recognize elements of common injuries & illnesses.• Recognize when someone needs CPR.• Perform high-quality CPR for an adult.• Give e�ective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups.• Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult.

ACCREDITATIONUpon completion of this program, participants receive an American Heart Association Heart-saver First Aid CPR AED Course Completion Card valid for two years

FIRST-AID OUTLINE• Know the �rst-aid basics.• Know how to deal with the medical emergency issues such as heart attack, asthma, diabetic patient…etc. • Know how to deal with the injuries emergency such as wounds, internal and external bleeding, shock fractures and burns• Know how to deal with the environmental emergency such as heat stroke, cold frost, animal bites…etc.

CPR AED OUTLINE• Adult, Child and Infant compression.• Opening the air way and give mouth to mouth, mouth to mask breathing for Adult , children & Infant.• Ask for help.• Demonstrate the complete sequences of CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation).• Use the AED (Automated External De�brillator).
