Sweet Candy Corn Ingredients: Toothpicks Pineapple chunks Mandarin oranges Apples Instructions: Cut pineapple chunks so they are shaped like the base of the candy corn. Sweet Candy Corn

Ingredients:

Toothpicks

Pineapple chunks

Instructions:

Ghost Banana Pops Ingredients:

1 cup dried shredded coconut

Raisins

Chocolate chips (mini)

3 Bananas

1½ cups of orange juice

6 Popsicle sticks

Instructions:

Cut the banana in half widthwise and insert a

popsicle stick into the flat end. Freeze for a few

hours. Dip in orange juice, followed by shredded

coconut. Be sure to get the dried shredded coconut; moist coconut flakes do not stick to

the banana well. Place two chocolate chips for eyes and a plump raisin for the mouth.

Cheesy Ghost

Ingredients: Mozzarella string cheese Currants, small pieces of raisins or other dried

fruit or black olives for eyes

Instructions:

Include string cheese on a snack plate. Kids can pull

cheese apart in shape of ghosts. To insert eyes

(currants, raisins or olives), poke two holes in the

“head” of the ghost and push the two eyes in to

adhere.

Witch’s Broom

Ingredients:

Cheese Strings

Pretzel Sticks

Fresh Chives

Instructions:

Cut a cheese string into three pieces. Cut the fringes of

the broom using a pair of scissors. Stick the pretzel

stick into the cheese with the fringes looking down. Tie

a piece of chive around the top of the cheese string.

Monster Bites

Ingredients:

Apples

Almond Slivers

Instructions:

Core and cut the apple into quarters. Cut a wedge

out of the skin side of each quarter. Insert almond

slivers into the mouth for teeth.

Creepy Cute Monsters

Either make these ahead of time, or do as a fun activity with the students!

Ingredients:

Bell Peppers (different colours) Hummus or Vegetable Dip Plum Tomatoes Chick Peas Carrots

Instructions: Cut a cucumber into thick disks. Slice each disk halfway to make an opening. Slide in a bell pepper tongue. Use hummus or dip to stick veggies and chick peas for the eyes, nose, and hair. Have fun getting creative!

Franken-kiwis

Ingredient:

Kiwi

Pretzel Sticks

Currants/Raisins

Instructions:

Using a vegetable peeler, cut almost all the skin,

leaving just enough to look like his hair. Cut the

base off the kiwi. Use the pretzel sticks for the

bolts and mouth and currants for eyes.

Veggie Finger Dippers

Ingredients: 6 ounces of plain Greek yogurt 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tablespoon lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste Carrots Green Beans Hummus Sliced Almonds

Instructions: Dip: Mix the yogurt, dill, garlic, lemon juice and salt & pepper in a bowl and refrigerate for at least two hours. Fingers: Peel carrots, cut into finger sizes and wash green beans; stick sliced almonds onto each end of the carrot and green bean with hummus so it looks like a fingernail, . Mummy Apples

Ingredients: Green apples Gauze Tape Mini Marshmallows Edible Ink/Currants

Instructions: Wash apples then wrap them in mummy fashion with gauze. Secure the end with a piece of tape. Make sure to leave space for the eyes. Cut mini marshmallows in half. Attach the sticky cut side to the apple for eyes. Add edible ink or currants to the eyes.

Spooky Spider Snack

Ingredients:

Plum

Pretzel Sticks

Canned Pitted Black Olives

Mini Marshmallows Edible Ink/Currants

Instructions:

Carefully use a knife to poke 3 holes on each side of the plum. Take 6 pretzel sticks and push them into the holes. Slide the olives

onto the pretzel sticks leaving just a bit of the pretzel showing. Fill up the other pretzel sticks with olives. Press the olive onto the end of the pretzel that is showing. Cut mini marshmallows in half. Attach the sticky cut side to the plum for eyes. Add edible ink or currants to the eyes.

Jack-o'-Lantern Hummus Plate

Ingredients: Roasted red pepper hummus Raisins Pretzel Stick Chips/Crackers/Veggies

Instructions: Spread hummus on a salad plate. Using raisins make a jack-o'-lantern face. Use a pretzel stick for the stem. Serve with chips, crackers, or veggies.

Fruit-O’Lantern

Ingredients:

Mandarin Oranges or Clementines

Fresh Strawberries

Fresh Blueberries

Red Grapes

Celery

Instructions:

Peel the mandarin oranges or clementines.

Wash strawberries, blueberries, grapes

and celery. On a round plate (preferably

orange in colour), arrange oranges as the body of the jack-o-lantern, strawberries for

the mouth, blueberries as the nose and grapes for the eyes. Cut celery into small strips

and use as stem for the jack-o-lantern.

Veg-eleton

Ingredients:

Lettuce Leaf

Ranch Dressing

Veggies

Instructions:

Take a small bowl for the ranch dressing and line

half of it with lettuce (for the skeleton’s hair), then fill

the bowl with ranch dressing and place it at the

head of a large tray or baking sheet. Arrange your

veggies on the tray to resemble a skeleton.

Watermelon Brain

Ingredients: Watermelon Vegetable peeler Paring knife

Instructions:

Slice bottom of watermelon to create a flat

surface so that watermelon does not roll

around. Peel green skin off with vegetable

peeler keeping some green lines in white

flesh. With a sharp paring knife carve brain

channels into watermelon to look like lines in a

brain. Include large cut down the middle of

watermelon to look like right and left

hemispheres.

Fruity Pumpkin

Ingredients: Pumpkin Wooden skewers Various fruit

Instructions:

Wash fruit and cut into bite size pieces. Slide fruit pieces onto wooden skewers. Push fruit skewers into top of pumpkin as shown in picture. Draw face onto pumpkin.
