Lighting Problems
During Production of our Short Film we used lights that are available to
film companies and studios, It provided enough light however there
were some health and safety issues that came with it, such as tripping
over wiring and burning your hand on the lights as the lights easily
became hot.

How we overcame this Issue
• To overcome the Issue of tripping over lighting we bind the wires
together using rubber bands to reduce the likelihood of tripping over
wires.
• To overcome the Issue of burning our hands on the production lights
we used gloves to adjust lighting. We also turned off the lights when
we weren’t filming, as they were generating lots of heat which
affected the crews performance.

Prop Problems (Knife)
A major health & safety issue we had was with the main character
picking up a knife for a scene. If he fell with the knife the production
crew would be endangered, the way the knife is carried also poses a
risk as he could walk into the knife’s blade and we would have to stop
filming.

How we dealt with this Issue
We dealt with this issue by changing the scene from including a knife to
an empty BB gun which was much safer than using a knife and
prevented any casualties from happening which could disrupt filming.
The BB gun was the safer option as, if the actor dropped the prop or fell
on it, then no fatalities would occur as the BB gun is plastic and not
sharp.
