John W. Haag354 Palo Verde DriveLeesburg, FL 34748

Resident since August, 2005

Education:Received a B.S. degree in 1964 from Rochester Institute of Technology,Rochester, New York

At present, I serve on the Hawthorne investment committee, theHawthorne budget committee, am one of the Hawthorne ambassadors,Zone 2 captain and a Hawthorne representative to the ROC (residentowners cooperative) organization.

I worked for Eastman Kodak, Sybron and Champion Products until1975. At this point I became a stay at home dad/investor. While athome, I operated a vehicle and boat storage business and raised sheep.I also was a code enforcement officer and building inspector for thetown of Caledonia, New York. I served as a volunteer at a nursinghome and served eight years on the board of directors of our countycooperative extension.

Shortly after my daughters finished college, I sold my farm and movedto Hawthorne full time.

I feel that it is necessary that we preserve that which we have alreadyaccomplished and yet be open to new ideas and opportunities forcurrent and future residents. I also feel that the maintenance fee shouldstay affordable.

Thank you for your support and the opportunity to serve Hawthorne.

The 2012 budgeincludes $29 in the maintenance fee forless than full-funding of reserves.Full-funding of the reserves would increasethe maintenance fee an additional $147.45.Each year the Board and Budget committeereview the reserve balances to assure thereare sufficient funds available to meet ourneeds.
