Remember that family photo you took from your regular point-and-shoot digital camera during your last vacation? You can make it an instant work of art without the steep

price. You can have your ordinary digital photos converted to canvas prints through various photo printing companies

in the malls or even online. This is a great alternative to purchasing expensive and impersonal paintings or other

artwork for you to display in your home or office.

How do you do you go about this canvas printing? First, you need to decide on which digital image you want to

have printed. You should always remember that the size of the printed product cannot be bigger than the actual size of the image in your file. Otherwise, you'll end up with a

poor quality photo. When saving the file that you'll give to the printing service company, make sure that the output resolution is set at 300 dpi. You also need to check that the image file you're selecting was taken in sharp focus.

Canvas material has a softening effect on whatever's printed on it. If you're photo was taken out of focus, the

blur and noise will only be exaggerated once printed. But, of course, it's an exception if you want a blurred effect on

the finished print.

You'll find in some stores that they offer some options for you to choose from, apart from the sizes of the canvas print. You may be able to have special effects on your

image like conversions to sepia or black-and-white photos, retouching, and more. In addition to the standard canvas

print is the gallery wrap. In this style, the canvas materials itself is wrapped around the wooden frame that holds it and the print on the canvas goes beyond the edge of the

wrapped-around canvas. Depending on which store you go to, there may be other effects you can choose from in

converting your photos to canvas prints.

If you're going to a brick-and-mortar printing shop, check several times if your image file has the right size and

resolution. If using an online shop, similarly, you need to be sure you're sending the right file.

Whether you're ordering from a physical or an online store, it would be best for you to call to make sure about the specifications so you won't be receiving disappointing images and go through the trouble of returning the goods

and waiting for another period of time for your canvas print.
