The director uses this model to visualise what will happen in the scene. This is effective because it will help the director to position everything very neatly such as the actors and the props. Every single detail in the model will help bring the actual set to life and make it more realistic for the audience.

In the film the Hogwarts Castle is a large, seven-storey high building supported by magic, with a hundred and forty two staircases throughout its many towers and turrets and very deep dungeons. This building would've took many hours to create and bring to life. This model helps the director see how it would look in the real film. It would also help the director make the film better by visualising what it is going to look like. They would also be able to improve the set by making a model to start with. This would have cost a lot of money to make as there are very detailed bricks, doorways and various lightings. On the model you can see mountains and rocks holding up the castle to add to the scenery.

The room is filled with different objects to make the film more magical and visually stunning. The costumes for Harry and Ron are simple and casual yet effective as it shows theyre comfortable with their surroundings which tells us a lot about the story and how they feel about where they live. There are arched windows and oil paintings which conveys to the audience that it is an old fashioned vintage building. It also shows that the room is formal and that it should be respected by the people living inside.

This is the very first Harry Potter film. The director has positioned the mannequins on the set to visualise the way the scene will play out. To make the scene come to life and more realistic, there are many props in the carriage such as the different types of sweets. Many different items and materials were used that you normally see and feel on a train carriage.

The picture on the left is a sculpture of Dobby. Dobby is an animated character therefore sculptures and drawings make it easier to visualise the character on screen. By going through these procedures it makes the animated character look more realistic in the film. This brings the character of Dobby to life. The different colours and textures on the drawing and sculpture make him look extremely realistic.

This makes the hall visually stunning and creates a magical but tense atmosphere for the audience because the level of detail is phenomenal and it sets the scene nicely for the film.

A formal attire is shown for these members of the cast to show the transition of age for Harry, Ron and Hermione. These are the costumes used at the end of the final film to show to the audience that they are looking into the future of their lives. These costumes show that they are not kids anymore. The director wanted to show that they have grown up and have become more matured. The audience can understand this because of the attire the costume designer has created. The costumes give the audience the message that time has passed and that they are being given an insight into the future. That is how powerful costumes are films as they give us a better idea of what the director is trying to convey to the audience.

Here is another white card model for one of the many streets in the Harry Potter movie. The detail is extremely precise with specific and unique dimensions, windows, doors and bricks appropriate for the film and the genre.

This is a picture of an extremely narrow hallway in the Harry Potter movie. This is an illusion as the position of the walls make it look as if the chair is really far away however, the chair in the picture is actually really close to us. To create this illusion for the audience, they used different camera angles and set designs to change the way the objects in the frame have been shot.
