who needs groceries, medicine or even food for
pets. You can write on her Facebook post on the
Church's Facebook page or call Beth Portocalis at

CARING HANDS
Caring Hands (Crochet/Knitting Group) is meeting
every Tuesday on Zoom at 9:30 while we're home-
bound. People interested can email me at mela-
[email protected] and I will send them the
link.
CONTEMPLATIVE GROUP
Contemplative Group is now meeting on Zoom every
Wednesday through this "stay at home" time! We
meet at 10 a.m. If you would like to join us, email
Mel at [email protected] for the link.
THURSDAY STUDY GROUP
THURSDAY STUDY GROUP is continuing their study of Bishop Spong's book Why Christianity Must Change or Die on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. on Zoom. We have five more weeks of this study and will then begin another (TBD). If you would like to join us, please email Mel at [email protected] for the link.
Worshipping With Us
Welcome! Episcopal worship is participatory. We stand, we kneel, we speak, sometimes we sing! Please join in at your level of comfort. If you’d like to learn more about what we as Episcopalians believe or if you have any ques-tions, please fill out one of the yellow cards in the pew and give it to Mother Susan or one of our ushers. We hope you feel welcome here and that you will come back often to feed your faith.
A Word About Receiving
Communion in the Episcopal Church
All are invited to the Altar to receive. If you would like a blessing, just cross your arms over your chest. If you decide to receive only the bread, extend your hand for the wafer and cross your arms over your chest to de-cline the wine. For the wine or grape juice you may guide the chalice to your lips by placing your hand gently on the chalice’s base and guiding it. Or you can dip your host (wafer) into the wine. Or you can give the host to the Lay Eucharistic Minister, who will dip the host into the wine and place it in your mouth.
FOOD PANTRY
Next week, May 16th & 17th we are collecting Cereal for
the Pitman Food Pantry. All donations are greatly ap-
preciated and accepted. Since we are not at the church
on the weekends you could bring your donations directly
to the pantry or Sue Burkhard's house. Pantry hours -
Tuesdays 6 to 7, Wednesdays 4 to 5, Thursdays 12 to
1.
During this time of uncertainty, please know that Church of the Good Shepherd will al-ways be here for you. Please email us or phone in your prayers so Mother Susan and Deacon Carl can pray for you specifically if you desire. Both of them are calling parish-ioners to check up on you and see how you are doing. We want to thank you all for con-tinuing to support Good Shepherd by mailing in your pledges.
Blessings, Mother Susan and Deacon Carl
Pitman Food Pantry
In the midst of this Coronavirus crisis, the Pitman
Food Pantry is in critical need of food dona-
tions. With so many churches closed, the usual
supply path of donations is drying up while the
demand is increasing. If you can donate, please
bring any items to the pantry during normal open-
ing hour, which are Tuesdays from 5:30 – 7:00
PM, Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:00 PM,
and Thursdays from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. The
Pantry is located at the First Baptist Church, locat-
ed at 30 North Broadway in Pitman. Bags may
be left outside the door, just knock so the volun-
teers inside are aware that donations have been
left. Jenn Harrington also offered to deliver to
the pantry, so you can drop off at her house in
Washington Township. Her address is in the direc-
tory but if you need it or directions, you may call
her at 856-383-0823.
Remember you can find out what is go-ing on at Good Shepherd by reading The Crook, the Trifold or checking our Website!
