    79th General Convention of the Episcopal Church

    Every three years, clergy and lay leaders come together as the governing body of our church. Grace is represented this year by lay deputy Betty Bowersox and alternate clergy deputy the Rev. Todd McDowell. Deborah Caby is also attending the Episcopal Church Women meeting, which gathers in conjunction with General Convention.     Blessing of the Bikes and Group Rides

    Saturday, July 7 / 8 a.m.

    Trinity Episcopal Church

    All are invited for a brief (yet powerful) blessing of the bikes at Trinity Episcopal Church in the Central West End. After the service join one of three fully supported rides: 6, 25 or 40 miles. Encouragement, restrooms and refreshments available at designated Episcopal parishes

    throughout the city and county.

    Mother Ginny leads a summer discussion series, using television comedies to find faith in everyday life. Well have fun watching episodes of The Vicar of Dibley and M*A*S*H, then chat about how we can learn about ourselves and our

    Trinity Hot Lunch: Reenvisioned

    Once a month for more than 20 years, Grace Church has been providing a hot lunch to the hungry and underfed in the Central West End. We are blessed to be a part of this important

    ministry to our community.

    Chris Kurth has led our efforts for the past eight years. Now hes ready to move on to other ministry duties, so were forming a new Trinity Hot Lunch Ministry Team and we want YOU

    to be a part of it!

    Changes in our Worship Services You may notice differences in our liturgy

    this summer

    We are using Eucharistic Prayer I from Enriching Our Worship for our Sunday morning services this summer. EOW is an approved supplement to the

    Book of Common Prayer.

    This liturgy is intended to expand the language, images and metaphors used in worship in a more

    contemporary and gender inclusive way.

    We hope this prayer will help deepen and strengthen your encounter with Christ through

    our Sunday morning services at Grace Church.

    Summer Sundays @ 5

    Sunday, July 29 & August 26 / 5 p.m.

    All ages are invited to engage in a casual worship service with Holy Communion in Graces Chapel of the Apostles. After the service, anyone who wishes to attend will travel to a local restaurant to enjoy dinner and fellowship together. (Everyone

    pays their own way.)

    Community of Hope Training Chris Kurth and Deborah Caby lead a new Community of Hope training session at Grace Church this fall. COH is a non-denominational ministry designed to provide pastoral care to the elderly, the lonely, the sick, the hungry, the imprisoned and the young. This ministry will enhance and enrich your spiritual formation through teaching, prayers and a network of support

    shaped by the theology of St. Benedict.

    The next training begins September 8 and continues weekly on Monday evenings through November, with dinner provided. If you would like more information about COH, please contact

    Chris Kurth, Deborah Caby or Fr. Todd.

    Invite a friend to experience the Grace Church labyrinth with you. This meditative walking device has a single, winding path for your

    contemplative journey. Groups should contact the church office for available times. Individuals are welcome any time the parish hall is not in use, along with these open hours:

    Tuesdays: 1 - 4 p.m. Thursdays: 6 - 8 p.m.

    Fridays: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    The Book Group discusses Writer, Sailor, Soldier, Spy: Earnest Hemingways Secret Adventures,

    1935-61, by Nicholas Reynolds. All are invited to come for the fellowship even if you dont read

    the book.

    Christian Twist Yoga at Grace Church

    Thursdays / 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

    All ages are invited to strengthen your body, mind and spirit with our weekly yoga classes. Cost is $10 per class; five classes for $40; ten classes

    for $75.
