Materials 6” x 6” Zweigert Mono Canvas, 18 count white

Mounted on stretcher bars Tapestry Needles #22 Needle Threader Pink cut-out card

Threads: Needle Necessities overdyed floss #157, pink, 2 pieces DMC floss #3837, purple, 1 piece Rainbow Gallery Soft Sheen Fyre Werks #FT7, lavender, 2 pieces Rainbow Gallery Flair, #F599, yellow, 1 piece

Area 1 – Cake Using 1 piece of Needle Necessities #157, pink overdyed floss, separate strands (6) and put 3 strands going one direction and the other 3 strands going the opposite direction.

Follow chart to make pattern of over 3, over 2 & over 1 straight stitches. Do only the first 2 rows, and then start the purple decoration on the cake.

For the purple decoration, use 6 strands of the purple DMC floss #3837, following the chart to make the pattern of over 3 and over 1 straight stitches.

Alternate threads (using 2 threaded needles) as needed to complete cake.

Area 2 – Plate Using Rainbow Gallery Soft Sheen Fyre Werks, lavender, #FT7, start with a waste knot and fill this area with basketweave as charted.

Area 3 – Candle Using the Rainbow Gallery Soft Sheen Fyre Werks, lavender, #FT7, bury waste thread in cake stitching and do 1 vertical stitch at top of cake, in the center. The stitch should cover 5 canvas threads. For padding, repeat this over 5 vertical stitch. See chart for placement.

Now with the same thread, do 6 over 2 horizontal stitches covering your vertical padding. Repeat the 6 over 2 horizontal stitches to make a candle that is nice and rounded. See chart for exact placement.

Complete flame of candle using the Rainbow Gallery yellow Flair thread, #F599. Bury your waste thread in the candle body and do 3 stitches as shown on the chart.
