Co-Worker

This is the guy who epitomizes ego.

He takes credit for everything, regardless of whether or not he actually deserves it.

He believes that his problems are bigger and more importantthan anybody else’s.

He has an inflated sense of himself

Handling Him

It's important that you keep your manager aware of your

worth and contribution, especially with team projects. Keep records of what you've accomplished,

along with names and dates. And don't bother to “tell your ideas" to "me" guy anymore.

This is the guy who is always nasty.

He is rude, arrogant, condescending and just notenjoyable.

He causes a lot of problem at the work place.

He is Mr. Perfect.

He will never accept constructive criticism.

He believes in doing things his way.

Nothing can change his mind about things.

Always speak collectively using the words like' We’ instead of ‘you’Always talk to him in person.

He acts as if he has a direct connection to company’s Grapevine.

This person shares his scoop regularly.

The majority of gossip is false and hurtful

Be cautious when presented with gossip.Keep the information to yourself instead of passing it on.

Project yourself ,that you are reluctant to be a part of the gossip chain

He is not happy in any situation

He is a guy who always complains.

He doesn’t knows the line between venting frustrationand constant nit- picking

He unleashes his cynical attitude on whoever happens to be near him.

Being a Whiner is embedded into his personality so you wont be able to change him.

Minimize your interactions with him. Don’t react to his problems.Inform him about you are busy if he wants to start up a conversation

regarding his latest peeve.

He never takes the blame of his mistakes and shifts the blame to others.

He wants to be in the good books of the bosses

Fails to understand that taking up the responsibility willimpress his boss.

Whenever appropriate share the blame.When not appropriate make it clear it to your boss that who

was at fault for the mishap.

He is not a team player.

He is too committed to his own ideas and not open to change

He believes that his way of doing things is the best.

The stubborn guy should be handled diplomatically.Generalize the solution while asking him to do a task in a certain way.

You can do the task yourself and show him the benefits of doing it the other way.

Make him responsible for the change and let him take charge.

This individual expresses is negativity by refusing to do any task.

He does this to get back at the way the he thinks company is treating him.

His favorite line is’ That’s not my job’

Try to find training and development opportunities for a Not-My-Job-er.Oftentimes this person wants growth and advancement

He loses his enthusiasm for work and tries to do as little as possible, whenhe thinks he is going no where.

Try to increase the scope of his job.

The Insecure Co- worker

This type of colleague likes to boost self image bycriticizing others

They are quick to defend and justify whatever they say,when they are being criticized.

They are highly paranoid and erratic.

Handling Him

Reassure them to build up their self-esteem, though it may be difficult.Do not snap back at them.

Be assertive and attempt to see the problem from their point of view.  Ignore temper tantrums by remaining silent.

Don’t attack them directly otherwise they will hold a grudge against you.
