A Robust Machine Base

The one-piece casting absorbs the thrust forces of high rapids (1259 IPM) and fast cutting feeds (787 IPM) and provides a robust platform for stable machine geometries.

The Double Column

The double column – ALSO a one-piece design – provides increased rigidity enabling higher speeds and accuracy for a superior part finish in a very large work area.

H10 Double Column

Eliminates “Pitch” Deflection and Dampens Inertia

X Axis

The one-piece design provides increased weight to absorb cutting vibration, and increased rigidity. The dual contact areas with the base eliminates pitch in the Y axis and reduces the effect of machine leveling changes over time.

By design, the table traverses in a single axis under the column, reducing energy consumption and the overall footprint of the machine.

The cross rails – mounted in a “ladder” design – increases rigidity, and eliminates head deflection.

The Z axis geometry is maintained by the rigidity of the column and rail mounting.

The Y axis cross rail saddle carries a constant weight, allowing for faster cutting while maintaining great part finish.

Thermal Stability

The low mass spindle head mounted to the solid base and column allows for the latest in material removal strategies, with speed, precision and thermal stability.

The ladder design of the rails minimizes the distance from spindle centerline to supporting structure providing a more rigid head. The reduction in casting material required by the in-line spindle motor reduces the total displacement potential of thermal growth. The spindle and spindle motor are temperature stabilized by use circulating fluid by an oil type chiller, isolating the main sources of head from the casting. Direct driven, in line spindle reduces vibration to achieve superior part finish.

Thermal Stability

Every spindle is tested for thermal growth in the machine at our factory. If test results fall outside our stringent specifications, the spindle is replaced, and testing is repeated.

Our spindles are specially constructed for minimal heat generation, for today’s high speed cutting practices.

Hand scraping for alignment and fit is the oldest, and remains the best method for working with the types of iron used in machine tool construction. To eliminate lost motion, the ballscrews are anchored on both ends and pre-tensioned. The motors are directly coupled to the ballscrews.

Linear scales are standard on all 3 axis. Mounted to the table, cross rail and head they take a direct reading of the true position of the axis. This compensates for thermal

growth, mechanical flex and backlash, for improved accuracy and repeatability.

Advanced CNC Control Features 1 Gig Data Server - The Data Server / Fast Data Server consists of an embedded memory card and an Ethernet connection on the CNC. The Data Server allows files to be transferred from a host computer to the CNC memory, or to the memory card on the Data server. Part programs may also be executed directly either from the network or the Compact Flash card on the Data Server. Benefits • Manage part programs for multiple machines at a central location. • Store and reliably execute large part programs without taking up part program storage on the CNC. AICC 2 - AI Contour Control II (AICC-II) is used to realize high-precision machining at optimal machining speeds. This function suppresses path errors due to acceleration / deceleration delay, servo positioning delay, and mechanical and electromechanical machine performance constraints. Without this function machining profile errors would increase proportionally with the programmed path feed rate. In practice, this function is useful when cutting on complex part forms involving sudden cutter direction changes such as are found in die/mold machining. Benefits • Optimization of the machining speeds using smooth acceleration / deceleration to minimize axis-overshoot errors. • Decrease of the part-form tolerances suppressing acceleration / deceleration delays and servo lag • Elimination of corner-clipping errors that typically increase as the feed rate increases • Less requirement to process later the cut surface with grinding or polishing • Significant increase of the machine productivity

Advanced CNC Control Features High Speed Processing - The High-Speed Processing function improves both the CNC Block Processing Time and the NC block look-ahead capability of the option AI Contour Control II. Benefits • Enables higher precision machining of complex free-form surfaces described by minute micro-block moves. • Optimization of the machining speed of complex free-form surfaces described by minute micro-block moves. 600 Block Look Ahead - When performing High-Speed Processing with AI Contour Control II, this function expands the CNC look-ahead capability to 600 CNC Part Program Blocks. Benefits • Enables a higher-precision machining on cutting complex part-forms that are defined by many, tiny, program blocks such as are found in die/mold machining. • The more look-ahead blocks the control can preview, the greater the chance it has of predicting a cutter direction change. Machine Condition Selection Function - Machining Condition Selection Function (MCSF) is a programmable way for the operator to set a level of machine accuracy whilst also optimizing productivity. Rotary Table Options

Detron GXA-S series tables are available with 6.69” (170mm) to 10” (255mm) diameter slotted face plates. These table have a patented dual pneumatic clamping system with high clamping torque capability, high precision cross roller bearings and a full gear depth transmission with a dual lead worm drive for low backlash. The motor enclosures are air purged for use in harsh environments.

Foundation Guidelines

1. FLATNESS ALLOWANCE OF THE FLOOR LEVEL SHOULD BE WITHIN ±10mm (0.39")

2. TAKE PRECAUTIONS SO THAT THERE ARE NO CRACKS IN THE CONCRETE.

3. IF AN EQUIVALENT ANCHOR BOLT IS USED, THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS MUST BE MET:

a. CORE DRILLED HOLES MUST BE PREPARED TO ENSURE PROPER ADHESION OF GROUT TO THE FOUNDATION CONCRETE.

b. THE GROUT AND ANCHOR BOLT MANUFACTURERS' RECOMMENDATIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED TO ENSURE FULL STRENGTH OF THE FOUNDATION.

c. AFTER PROPER CURE TIME, ANCHOR BOLT MUST BE CAPABLE OF ALLOWING A MINIMUM TORQUE TRANSMISSION OF 542N-m (400 FT-LB.)

4. BASED ON THE SOIL CONDITIONS, THE STIFFNESS OF THE FOUNDATION SHALL BE DETERMINED, SO THAT THE MACHINE BASE DOES NOT DEFLECT MORE THAN 0.012mm (0.0005") INCHES TO MAINTAIN THE MACHINE ACCURACY AND PERFORMANCE

5. THIS DRAWING SHOWS THE GENERAL ARRANGEMENT REQUIRED FOR THE MACHINE FOUNDATION. LOCAL MASONRY CONTRACTOR AND/OR CIVIL ENGINEERS MUST BE CONSULTED FOR ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS, E.G. LIMITED WARRANTY Subject to the terms of this Limited Warranty, Hurco Companies, Inc. d/b/a Takumi USA (“Takumi USA”) warrants to the End User that exclusive of the Fanuc CNC Control, the Takumi Machine Tool, Replacement Part or Accessory, (each, a “Product”) for which this Limited Warranty is issued will be free from any Covered Defect during the Warranty Period for the Product.

During the Warranty Period, Takumi USA will replace or repair, at its option, a Product with a Covered Defect at no expense to its End User, except that: (1) End User must pay for any repair, replacement or installation costs not authorized in advance by Takumi USA; and (2) End User must pay for all shipping costs (including freight charges, taxes, and insurance), excepting shipping costs for repaired parts and components or a Replacement Part shipped under this Limited Warranty by Takumi USA to End User or an Authorized Distributor.

End User must report to Takumi USA in writing any Covered Defect as soon as practicable upon its discovery and in all events prior to the expiration of the Warranty Period for the Product. Takumi USA shall have no responsibility with respect to any Covered Defect which is not reported to Takumi USA by written notice prior to the expiration of the Warranty Period for the Product. End User must allow Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor to inspect and test the Product during business hours to determine if there is a Covered Defect. At the option of Takumi USA, a Product with a Covered Defect will be repaired at End User’s location, and should not be returned to Takumi USA except upon inspection and testing by Takumi USA or, with prior approval of Takumi USA, an Authorized Distributor. Upon request, End User must return for repair or replacement, with shipping costs paid by End User, the Product or part(s) or component(s) of a Product with a Covered Defect to Takumi USA at the following address: Takumi USA, 7220 Winton Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268. All parts, components and Products replaced by Takumi USA shall become the property of Takumi USA.

This Limited Warranty is effective and valid only if the Authorized Distributor from which the Product is purchased (or Takumi USA, if it is the seller) is paid in full for the Product, and the End User for that Product executes Takumi USA-provided installation acknowledgments and forms upon completion of installation of the Product.

The warranty covering the Fanuc CNC Control used with and made part of the Takumi Machine Tool is provided by Fanuc Corporation. Each of the Fanuc spindle motors and Fanuc servo motors, spindle and servo drives are covered by a two (2) year Fanuc manufacturer warranty (the “Fanuc Warranty”) running from the earlier of: (1) the date of the first use of the Takumi USA Machine Tool by its initial End User; and (2) the date which is 30 days after shipment by or for Takumi USA of the Takumi USA Machine Tool to an Authorized Distributor or the End User (the “Fanuc Warranty Period”). Takumi USA shall have no responsibility with respect to any defect in the Fanuc CNC Control occurring during or outside the Fanuc Warranty Period, but during the Fanuc Warranty Period, Takumi USA shall assist End User in reporting and processing a claim under the Fanuc Warranty, provided that End User reports any issue regarding the Fanuc CNC Control in accordance with the requirements for reporting a Covered Defect under the Takumi USA Limited Warranty. Fanuc will replace or repair, at its option, the Fanuc CNC Control at no expense to its End User, except those costs within the categories of costs to be borne by End User under this Takumi USA Limited Warranty.

As used in this Limited Warranty:

(a) “Accessory” means a new accessory, kit or optional equipment supplied and installed on a Takumi USA Machine Tool by Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor at any time after the initial installation of that Takumi USA Machine Tool.

(b) “Authorized Distributor” means a Person authorized by Takumi USA to sell and service Takumi USA Machine Tools.

(c) “Covered Defect” means a failure of a Product during the Warranty Period to conform in any substantial way during normal use with the performance specifications and standards established by Takumi USA for that Product; provided that such failure is not caused by or resulting from any of the following: (i) normal wear and tear or deterioration; (ii) inadequate or improper maintenance, such as End User’s failure to clean, lubricate, replenish or replace oil, fluids, coolants, lamps, fuses, belts, filters and similar items; (ii) accident, negligence, theft, weather, electrical surges or lightning, fire or any other peril, misuse, abuse, programming error, improper operation or failure to follow fully maintenance and operation instructions provided by Takumi USA or a Takumi USA technical specialist to End User; (iv) mishandling, improper packaging or any other act which occurs during or in connection with shipment of the Product, or during or in connection with its rigging or installation, unless caused by Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor; and (v) any repair, replacement, modification or alteration of the Product which is not authorized by Takumi USA.

(d) “End User” means the Person who purchases for its own use directly from Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor the Product for which this Limited Warranty is issued, and, so long as any relocating and reinstallation of the Product is performed by an Authorized Distributor or Takumi USA, also any Person who purchases the Product from its initial End User prior to expiration of the Warranty Period for the Product. The term does not include any Person who purchases the Product for resale, lease or other transfer to, or use by, another Person.

(e) “Takumi USA Machine Tool” means a machine tool manufactured by or for Takumi USA, bearing the name “Takumi USA” and a “Takumi USA” trademark and serial number, and purchased by an End User new directly from Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor, together with any accessory, component, kit or optional equipment installed on that Takumi USA Machine Tool by Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor prior to or at the time of initial installation of that Takumi USA Machine Tool.

(f) “Person” means and includes an individual, partnership, joint venture, corporation, limited liability company, trust or other legal entity.

(g) “Replacement Part” means a new or rebuilt genuine part or component bearing a “Takumi USA” trademark provided by Takumi USA or an Authorized Distributor under this Limited Warranty in replacement of a part or component of a Product.

(h) “Warranty Period” means:

(i) For a Takumi USA Machine Tool, unless a different warranty period is expressly stated in the quotation issued by Takumi USA for that Product, a period of One (1) Year. These periods begin on the earlier of: (1) the date of the first use of the Takumi USA Machine Tool by its initial End User; and (2) the date which is 30 days after shipment by or for Takumi USA of the Takumi USA Machine Tool to an Authorized Distributor or the End User. (The warranty period may be extended, on exception basis, by a separate warranty extension issued in writing by Takumi USA to the End User for a Takumi USA Machine Tool);

(ii) for a Replacement Part, a period which is the longer of: (i) the 90 days after the date of its shipment by or for Takumi USA to an Authorized Distributor or the End User; and (ii) expiration of the Warranty Period for the Takumi USA Machine Tool on which that Replacement Part is installed; and

(iii) for an Accessory, a period which is the longer of: (i) the 90 days after the date of its shipment by or for Takumi USA to an Authorized Distributor or the End User; and (ii) expiration of the Warranty Period for the Takumi USA Machine Tool on which the Accessory is installed.

FOR ALL PRODUCTS AND THE FANUC CNC CONTROL TAKUMI USA DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS WARRANTIES, EXCEPTING ONLY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, AND DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

END USER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, AT THE OPTION OF TAKUMI USA OR FANUC CORPORATION AS APPLICABLE, OF THE PRODUCT WITH A COVERED DEFECT OR FANUC CNC CONTROL.

IN NO EVENT SHALL TAKUMI USA BE LIABLE TO END USER OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST PROFITS, LOST WAGES, INOPERATIVE MACHINE OR SOFTWARE TIME, PARTS PROGRAMS, SCRAP PARTS, INFRINGEMENT, OR ANY OTHER INDIRECT INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR SIMILAR DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DAMAGE OR INJURIES RESULTING FROM THE USE, OPERATION OR POSSESSION OF ANY PRODUCT OR THE FANUC CNC CONTROL OR ANY CLAIMS OR DEMANDS BROUGHT AGAINST END USER, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF TAKUMI USA WAS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH CLAIMS.
