DESCRIPTIONFrankie analysing the video
Gwen Stefani4 In The Morning
In this scene Gwen Stefani is rolling in bed, in all white clothes so she looks pure in a way. In our music video of I Scream by Peaches the first scene we have is of our artist in all white falling asleep in bed, on her own. I felt that this video inspired us to think of this idea, as Gwen Stefani looks relaxed and waiting for someone just like our artist is in the song. The song four In the morning is all about a girl trying to get a boy to fall in love with her and she would give him everything. Our song is about a girl wanting a boy and asking if it is all a dream or is he making love to her.
The bath sequence
In this sequence we got A LOT of our inspiration for one of our main scenes on our music video. This scene is Gwen singing in the bath and sitting in the bath. We felt that this had good mise-en-scene as it Is dark with candles and a simple bathroom which makes us assume she is thinking, trying to forget about the day and relaxing. This also represents the artist in a sexy way as she is in the bath. This scene is very clever as it can mean a lot of representations but its a simple everyday routine. This is one of the main reasons we picked this to be in our music video as it would represent the cheeky-ness of our artist but also would represent that she wants him without being to obvious to the younger generation. Also in this scene Gwen has very little make-up on so she looks natural but still seems beautiful, this we have taken into consideration and will try and recreate the wet hair and very little make-up look. We know this will be hard as make-up can get patchy and runny. This bath sequence has been the most influential we have seen in this music video.
The bed sheet sequence
This whole sequence makes me think of the childs game of hide and seek. But this scene also make me think that the representation of her rolling in bed sheets is like a invitation to go to bed. Also for the audience this makes us feel like we are in her private world and so we feel more connected to the artist. Also as she is rolling round in sheets there is a certain cheeky-ness to it and makes us feel like she may be playing games. We felt that this would look great in our music video as our artist is perceived as a cheeky, playful and lustful character and i feel that this scene will help show this if the artist is being more cheeky and hiding herself from the camera more. In this video Gwen is perceiving that she needs him so much it hurts but in our song our artist wants him and needs him to be with her.
This video helped us to see that even if the artist is singing about her love and need for a man, the man doesnt have to be in the video. This helps us a lot and has brought us a lot of new ideas and has changed our first plan of what the music video was going to be.
