1. Training centers for the students

Authorised Training Centre- ATC for CREO 2.0.FETR has signed M.O.U. with PTC University, USA and establishedAuthorised Training Centre- ATC for CREO 2.0. Software designcourses for Mechanical Engineering Department. The ATC at FETR hasstarted “CREO-2-VITY” – the Technical event that enhances Design andModeling skills of Students at State level.

Authorized Training Centre for Dlink Academy for ComputernetworkComputer Ebgineering Department has signed M. O. U. with D-Link forD-Link Academy - An authorized Training Centre for D-Link certifiedNetwork Engineers.

Solar based training coursesFETR has signed MOU with M/S ENELEK POWER LTD. Founded byformer engineers of IIT-Bombay for advance solar training courses.

WIZDOM Education projectsAn Industrial Visit was arranged by M/S GMMOS, Dubai for CollegeFaculties at Mumbai Shipping yard. Four students of third yearmechanical engineering students have gone through the vocational onemonth training during June-July 2013at Dubai sponsored by GMMOS.

Shree Ambica Automobiles (TATA Ambica), KamrejImparting industrial exposure to the students in the form of vocationaltraining every semester in the field of Automobile & Manufacturing.Provided an Automobile vehicle for demonstration purpose inAutomobile Engineering laboratory at our institute where students canplay with their ideas

CHEM-CAD laboratoryCHEM-CAD laboratory in Chemical Engineering Department incollaboration with Nodal Institute (Chemicals & Petrochemicals sector)under Centre for Entrepreneurship Development Cell (CED),Gandhinagar and Anchor Institute, Faculty of Technology, D.D.U.,Nadiad. M/s Indigenous Solution Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai will provide CHEM-CAD Suite simulation software for this simulation lab.

NODAL Training CenterFETR has established Nodal Training Centre of 100 seating capacity incollaboration with Nodal Institute (Chemicals and Petrochemicals Sector)under centre for Entrepreneurship Development Cell (CED),Gandhinagar and Anchor Institute, Faculty of Technology, D.D.U.,Nadiad. FETR has utilized the grant from Nodal Institute as a capitalinvestment and developed a state of art Process Automation Lab, whichcomprises of PLC based SCADA system interfacing with Level, Flow,Temperature and Pressure controller kit, shell & tube heat exchanger andCSTR tank. FETR has conducted various training program in the field ofChemicals & Petrochemicals sector in association with Anchor Institute,Faculty of Technology, D.D.U., Nadiad.

2. Patent Search Methodology and Patent Drafting Workshop

One day workshop on “Patent Search Analysis and Methodology” organizedfor students and faculties on 19th September 2013.

One day workshop on “Patent Drafting Exercise” was organized for all thestudents and faculties from 21st to 25th April 2014

3. Open Source Technology ClubSpoken tutorial on FOSS (Free and Open Source Software)like Linux,Scilab, LaTeX, PHP &MySQL,Java,C/C++,LibreOffice etc. was organizedyearly for students of different departments during current year 2013-14.

4. Mobile and Wireless Technologies Club

Mobile and Wireless Technologies Club (MWTC) is a body formed in theInstitute so that regular activities in various aspects of mobile technologyand Wireless Communication can be organized.

One Day Workshop on “Wireless Sensor Networks” on 25th January2014. The workshop was aimed to provide knowledge about WirelessSensors and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and the workingenvironment of WSN. Almost 55 students and 18 faculties fromComputer Science & Engineering &Electrical Engineering haveparticipated in the workshop.

5. Student Startup Support System (S4) Activities Seminar

Study and Industrial Visit in Germany was organized on 11th March 2014for Final year students. Almost 150 students of FETR and N. G. PatelPoly Technique from different disciplines had participated the seminar.

Employability Skill test

Online WheeBOX Employability Skill Test conducted for all final yearstudents during 7th to 11th April 2014 to bring reliable and authenticassessment to various aspects of education, training and employment.

6. Technical Events at the Institute

The Technical Festival “VISVESMRUTI-2013” organized on 14th and 15th

September 2013. Almost 600 entries were registered for various eventsincluding round about 1300 students from various colleges such as LaxmiInstitute- Valsad, SCET- Surat, SSASIT- Surat, SNPIT-Umrakh, NGPP-Tajpore, Valia Institute of Technology-Bharuch and many others. This twodays Technical festival comprised of various technical/nontechnicalprograms as follows.

‘Vacha’ (paper presentation, quiz competition, Elocution ) was there wherethey could speak out and share their ideas on various technical topics.

‘Viviksha’ (quiz and photo mania) to satisfy their curiosity for knowledge. ‘Vichar’ (Best from West, E - Jumb Jack, Best Buy) was there to encourage

them to think creatively. There was ‘Viyukti’ (LAN Gaming, ADZAPE, Auto Cad, CAA, C Quest) to imply

their intelligence. ‘Vivartan’(RobOlympics, Color removal) was there to exhibit unusual

behavior. ‘Vimarsh’(Poster Presentation) for the thoughtful exchange ofideas in the form of posters.

‘Vaividhya’ was there with the photo mania and Logo Creation. ‘Viniyog’ was arranged for the skillful assembling and exhibition as Model

Presentation.

12.Employability Enhancement programmeTo bridge the gap between industry and academy 4 days program on“Employee Ability Enhancement” was organized on 26th to 29th january2014 for students and faculties in association with “SUN Infosystem,SIPL”.The program was included with Aptitude test, Personal Interviews,Technical Enhancement program along with Virtual placement

13. Refreshment Course for GATETo increase the technical skills of final and pre-final year students and to getprepared for competitive exams like GATE/PGCET , 14 days 50 hours shorttraining program was organized during vacation period (May 2014 to June2014). Weekly assessment and discussion along with Online Mock test wasorganized.

14.Techfest Green Campus Challenge (TGCC)National level event was organized under TGCC during last year wherevarious innovative activities like Green Campus Challenge pledge, GreenMarch, Awareness on Soli Erosion, Cycle Rally for Environment Protectionawareness, Food Product using soil based device, water conservation, waysto reduce traffic volume, ways to recycle waste water, Measures to reducewater wastage, paper waste and dry vegetable waste management. FETR hassecured 16th rank out of 360 institutes participated in National level TGCCcompetition.
