WelComeWelcome to the second Great Rift Valley Energy Summit.

This continues the GRV summits series as historic events that significantly contribute to the growth and prosperity in East Africa, and I would like to thank the officials present for their valued support of this initiative.

The aim of this Summit is to bring together international investors, development agencies and technology providers within the renewable energy, conventional energy, power generation, transmission and distribution sectors with the clear objective of encouraging all to buy into, discuss and partner with ready-to-invest and proposed energy projects throughout the region.

We are grateful for the cooperation of Hon. Mr. Tegenu ALEMAYEHU and the assistance of Mr. Getahun MOGES, Director General and Mr. Tadiwos GEREMEW, Director of Communication, both of the Ethiopian Electricity Authority.

We hope that our summit encourages advancement in the energy sector in the region and that all participants over the next two days will further the aims of all involved.
