Despite the early impact of albums such as Repulsion’s Horrified and Impe-tigo’s Ultimo Mondo Cannibale,[2] the origins of the genre really lie with the British band Carcass,[3] who began their career in the late 1980s. In their Reek of Putrefaction-era, Carcass used pitch shifters, medical imagery and a host of other visceral associations when it originally conceived the band, a devia-tion from the frequently political or left-wing lyrics commonly used in the hardcore punk and grindcore scenes.

Gore-Grind music is characterized by its preoccupation with pitch-shifted or extremely low vocals, use of gore and forensic pathology as its exclusive subject matter, and often very fast tempos. Grind-Gore bands also have the refreshing tendency not to take them-selves or their lyrics too seriously. This is evidenced by ...

the often intricate and disgust-ing yet undeniably cartoonish splatter drawings that adorn many Gore-Grind album sleeves.

INTRODUCCTION GRINDGORE HOUSE CLUB

Zero Tolerance described goregrind as being defined by “detuned guitars, blasting drums (sometimes with a high-tuned, clanging ‘biscuit tin’ snare drum sound), sickening lyrics and often heavily processed/distorted vocals.[4] Gore-grind bands commonly use extremely low or pitch-shifted vocals.[5] The lyr-ics’ subject matter often features violent themes including gore, forensic pa-thology, death, and rape. Lyrics sometimes have a clear tongue-in-cheek Z-grade horror-movie feel and are not expected to be taken seriously.[1] Cyjan, drummer for Polish goregrind band Dead Infection, commented, “Musically, there’s no real difference between grindcore and goregrind, but lyrically, whereas the first is socially and politically concerned, goregrind, as the name implies, deals with ev-erything related to blood, pathological aspects or accidents with fatal results.

GRIDE: has played since mid 90ies. A group of hardcore and grindcore freaks has formed the band in 1996. Early production mainly drew from such bands like DOOM, NAPALM DEATH, AGATHOCLES, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, early BRUTAL TRUTH etc. After some months of rehearsals, line-up has been stabilized on.

Buried at Birth: Formed in the Spring of 2010 by Ryan Fassler and David Taylor, the duo intended to fill the void left by bands like Fall Silent, Insect Warfare, 97a, and the Accused. After a few jam sessions however, the pair quickly realized that they’d need another guitar to complement their brand.

Festival Specialthe most important date for every freak in 2012? Obscene Ex-treme 2012 will take place from Wednesday July 11th to Sunday July 15th 2012!!!

– should I describe our Freakfest in one word it would be Madness - undoubtedly!!! The atmosphere was so marvelous we will again repeat this ini-tial part of the festival next year!!! The truth is sometimes it was really on the edge but on the other side Freakfest ap-peared to be a great starting day and OEF public is tolerant enough so that everybody could find his/her place. Either he/she enjoyed Freakfest fully and actively with a pentathlon or just watched only some compe-titions (you will not see every day).

We have plenty of ideas for next year to improve the fest

Wednesday. We may also add some live music or at least en-large the audio roaring in the

beer tents.

- 69 is a great number. It worked very well and we will

keep it also for the 2012 volume. We would like to attack the

number of 500 bands that have played at OEF next year.

AFTERSHOW party

– cool club party for those who still have not lost the

power. It will also take place on Sunday 15th July 2012. Again

it will be some nice club.

Big thanks to all the fans and as usual to the best audience in the world. To be honest I expected more fans to come thanks to this year playlist that may not repeat very soon and due to a massive investment into a better fest venue ( 20 ToiToi WCs more, speacial parking lot for bands, bigger emphasis on tidiness, again more money for collected plastic cups, bigger promotion, sound improve-ments, installation of plazma TV into the beer tent and VIP bar and further little things) but we can do nothing about that now. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the weekend.

According to my opinion and responses we have so far from the bands, first reports and individual fans this volume had only a few imperfections and we are very glad about that!!! This is the greatest thing to hear after a whole year work. As one of our regular OEF fans wrote this volume is to be entered into historical books. hahaha...

Thanks to all the bands . Me, personally, was absolute-ly enthusiastic about both the “smaller” band on Friday in the morning or a headliner on Saturday at prime time. It is almost unbeliavable that all the 69 bands played. as promised in the playlist. Another big plus was everything happened on time as we had planned.
