Storyhours The Spring session of spring storyhours will run from April 6 – June 5th.Turtle Time for ages 1 ½ - 2 ½ years accompa-nied by a caregiver, Mondays at 10:15.Toddler storyhour for ages 2 ½ - 3 ½ accom-panied by a caregiver, Fridays at 10:15 or 11:15.Preschool Storyhours for ages 3 ½- 5 ½, Wednesdays from 10:30 or 1:00 pm.Registration is required.

PAWS to READDoes your child need practice in reading skills? Here’s an opportunity to practice this spring with a therapy dog who LOVES to listen to stories! Children ages 6-11 may sign up for one 20 minute session per week. The next session is on Monday April 13th from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Please register for this program in person or by calling the children’s room at 949-3630 x2.

Money Smart Week for KidsThe library is participating in Money Smart Week @ your Library, a national initiative in its fifth year. This is a collaboration with the American Library Association, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Rhode Island Library Association. The aim is provide financial literacy programming to help build community. Join us on Tuesday April 21st at 2:00 where children ages 6-10 will be creating a piggy bank to save their coins and dollars. Refreshments will be served. This program is sponsored by Navigant Credit Union

Author Visit with Eric SturtevantPlease join the Greenville Library at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11th in welcoming RI based children's book author/illustrator Eric Sturtevantfor a reading and signing of his latest early reader board book "Hippo Hippo's Cranky Day". Hippo Hippo is having a very cranky day. Her par-ents are trying so hard to make her happy, but she keepsgetting crankier. What can they possibly do to get her to play with them.Sounds like a problem most parents can relate to, huh? Told with simple rhyme and Inspired by his experiences as a "rook-ie" daddy to his now three year old daughter, "Hippo Hippo's Cranky Day" is dedicated to parents every-where whose patience (sometimes) and love (always) help them get through even the worst cranky day their little hippo can have. Eric will also lead a discussion on his life as an artist...from his love of cartoons at an early age to the people and events that helped inspire his unique

Bubble Display Zoë DeFrancesco, age 9, is displaying her stamp collection. She became interested in stamp collecting because some of the stamps she saw looked cool and she want-ed to keep them. Once she began officially collecting stamps, Zoë’s Aunty Christy presented her with her own childhood col-lection. Zoë’s grandfather also makes sure that he saves all of the stamps from his letters to give to her!

Share – A Story Book Discussion Group

The book discussion group for 4th and 5th graders and their

parent /caregiver will meet on Wednesday April 8th @

4:00. Each month we meet to discuss a book we have read

that is chosen by the children’s librarian. Come join in the fun!

School Vacation Program @ the Library

Casey Farm Project Chick Families with children of all ages may register for this fun and educational

presentation by members of Historic New England to be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 2:00 pm. Participants will learn how chickens are raised at Casey Farm and will be able to hold a brand new baby

chick !A question and answer sessionwill follow the presentation. Registration is

required and begins April 1.

Art in the Afternoon with Miss Adele

Artist and teacher Adele Karbowski will present an art class on Thursday April 23rd at 4:00. Children ages 6-10

may register, beginning April 1st.

Bedtime Storytime Children ages 3-6 are invited to join us for a special evening story time at the library! Children will hear stories and songs and make a fun craft! This story time will take place on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30. Reg-istration which begins April 1st may be done at the children’s desk or by phone at 949-3630 x2.Children may wear their pajamas.

Hampstead Stage Company An adaption of Pinocchio will be performed by the talented actors of Hampstead Theatre Company on Thursday eve-ning, April 23, at 6:00 pm. This live theatre presentation tells the story a carpenter named Geppetto who creates a puppet out of some wood, a ball and string who comes alive after being visited by some clever fairies. After the play the chil-dren will meet the actors when there will be a question and answer session. Registration begins April 1st for children ages 4- 11.This program is generously brought to you by the Urgent Care Center of Smithfield.
