This web quest helps grade six students to read about great explores, create a time line in order to help them to plan and write a biography and to create an oral presentation.

The lesson is modified from grade 6 textbook at Sultanate of Oman, English for Me.

More explorers are added in this web quest so that students can have the chance to read and understand a variety of texts.

The purpose is to improve their speaking and writing skills

To enjoy learning as well.

The webquest is designed for grade 6 students. The topic Great explorers is found in their curriculum as unit four in 6B.

This webquest can also be used with higher grades from 7-9 with some modification to the final products or the processes.

There are three phases within the webquest to guide students’ learning .  They have to complete the following steps:

1. Students will be work in pairs. Each pair choose an explorer and work collaboratively.

2. students search the provided websites. 3. Students sit together to share what they learned

and create a time line using the provided web sites.

4. Students work on their PowerPoint presentation.

5. Students write a biography about the explorer6. Students reflect on the project.
