To be recognised as a great region for safe cycling, inspiring more people to cycle more often
What we will deliver• Cycle Yorkshire is about getting the people of Yorkshire on their bike. We
want to Get Yorkshire Cycling over the next 10 years by inspiring and encouraging people in Yorkshire to cycle or cycle more often if they do already!
• This is the first time councils, cycling organisations and partners have come together to try to improve peoples health and support the environment through cycling - whether its for fun or as transport to get to where they want to get to, wherever that may be.
• Ensuring people of all ages and abilities have access to the skills and equipment to confidently and safely enjoy cycling in Yorkshire.
• Our objectives are bold and clear:– Giving everyone in the region the opportunity to access a bike and the training
to use it– Delivering a Yorkshire cycle hire network, so that even if you don’t have a bike,
you can borrow one– Making sure there a lots of cycling events for people to get involved in– Supporting organisations and schools to have their own travel plan– And, increase Local Authority and partnership support to communities to
promote cycling
…to be recognised as a great region for safe
cycling, inspiring more people to cycle more often
