DESCRIPTION

powerpoint presentation of the tragedy of the steamship G.P. Griffith that sank off the coast of Willowick, Ohio that killed over 280 people. Here is the entire Powerpoint presentation I gave at the Willowick Library ,Saturday, June 3, 2000. Included within the pack-and-go setup are the linked files, graphic images, multimedia sounds and music, and embeded TrueType fonts. The setup program, 'pngsetup.exe', will ask you for a destination folder to uncompress all the files to. It will create a destination folder of any name if one doesn't exist. Included is the viewer for Windows 95 or NT. Click 'Yes' from the dialog to run the program, or 'ppview32.exe' from within the destination folder to view the slide show. When you want to advance to the next slide in the presentation, wait until you see the grey 3D button fly from the top-left of the slide. This is the visual cue that indicates when to click your left mouse button once to go to the next slide. Each slide is advanced like this - wait until you see the button and take your time reading each slide. All my resources are listed at the end of the presentation. I hope you enjoy what I have put together. If you have any questions or comments, my e-mail address is: [email protected] Thanks!Mike BowenWillowick, OhioAugust 22, 2000

complaining youngsters, while the men gathered in knots, exchanging views of the steamer and

impressions of this impressive new country that held their hopes and futures.

It was customary, in the early days of steam on the lakes, to salvage the engines of burned or wrecked ships if they lay in

shallow water. A good engine represented a good portion of the investment in a vessel and some engines outlived two or three wooden hulls. Here again the fate of the Griffith's engine is
