From the Commissioner of Collegiate Education’s Desk
“Since we live in an age of innovation, a practical education must prepare a man for
work that does not yet exist and cannot yet be clearly defined.” – Peter F. Drucker
Background
The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Govt. of AP has introduced 25 market
oriented restructured courses in various disciplines with an objective of introducing job
oriented knowledge and skills for empowering the existing undergraduate B.A, B.Com and
B.Sc programs and to make the graduates ready for jobs through involvement of industry
from the beginning. The success and the yielding of fruits of the envisaged outcome will rely
on the faculty who owned up this gargantuan task. The principle goal of education is to
create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other
generations have done – men who are creative, inventive and discoverers. So unless the
faculties are well trained in delivering the said courses, the efforts will go in vain. Hence it
was decided to conduct a series of Faculty Development Programmes for re examining and
refurbishing the existing knowledge of the faculty in the core areas of the market oriented
courses.
Objectives
• Develop an appreciation for the faculty training in view of changing roles and
responsibilities of faculty in delivering the required skills for the market oriented courses.
• Understand the significance of alignment amongst the fundamental elements of effective
teaching and learning and work skills.
• Be able to suitably apply the principles of skill and market required learning in varied
learning contexts.
• Be able to describe and choose from the signature pedagogies used in the skill education.
6
• Get motivated to meet industry requirements with the market oriented courses.
The Process
• The subject coordinators and syllabus committee members who worked in drafting the
syllabus of these market oriented courses are advised to identify suitable Resource
Persons from the industry.
• A schedule has been drawn in consultation with the Resource Persons and the Subject
Coordinators for the faculty training programme.
• The FDPs’ are scheduled from 24.07.2017 to 19.08.2017.
• Faculty are mapped based on the requirements and potential.
• Proceedings issued for making the faculty participate in their respective programmes.
• Faculty Development Programmes are conducted on the premises of APHRDI, Bapatla.
• Evaluation done at the end of each programme.
Envisaged Outcome
• Faulty who are involved in teaching the market oriented courses will be better equipped
with the latest content, the pedagogy, on how to impart the skill training by designing
appropriate practical components.
• When the delivery system is in place, definitely the result will be reaching the set targets.
In gratitude and appreciation……
I thank RUSA for supporting and strengthening Higher Education in India. My gratefulness
to Sri. D. Chakrapani, IAS (Rtd), the Director General APHRDI for accommodating all the
25 training programmes. I sincerely appreciate and thank all the Resource persons, Subject
Coordinators and my officers of Academic Cell for making the vision a reality.

ownership on the programmes of the Government.
In its journey towards disseminating knowledge and creating a pool of intellectual wealth,
AP HRDI is conducting no. of capacity building programmes to the public functionaries.
As part of the above AP HRDI has conducted FDP in association with Collegiate Education
from 24 th July, 2017 to 19th August, 2017 at Bapatla for about 355 Faculty Members.
These Faculty Members were trained by 63 eminent educationists in about 27 days in various
subjects viz., Computer Science, Chemistry, Botany, Renewable Energy, Telugu, Arts,
Zoology, and Statistics & English.
Faculty Development Programmes are about growth of the individual knowledge, skills and
experience. Training and Education are two important ingredients.
I congratulate all the Faculty Members, who attended this FDP with commitment and

In the morning session after inauguration ,Resource person Dr. Shaik. Mohammad Rafi
explained about Cloud Computing Concepts. Cloud computing is the web based processing
were the data, application and infrastructure are provided to computers and other devices on
demand over the network. Cloud computing is the means of accessing a shared pool of
configurable computing resources including Hardware, Software, Network, Servers, storage
applications and Services, that can be rapidly provided , used and released with minimal
effort on the part of users or Service providers. He covered “cloud computing”concepts
like -Introduction,Key characteristics,Components,Supported Application Frame
work,Architecture,Cloud API s and Types,Economics,Privacy,Google APP engines &
Amazon EC2,Latest trends,Applications(E-mail,Google Drives,---),References
After completion of all the above concepts the session was closed for lunch break
In the afternoon session Dr.Shaik.Mohammad Rafi delivered a lecture on Data Science.
Data Science incorporates both the technical and non technical issues and phenomena that
arise from the explosive rise in data. it provide methods of collecting and analysing this data
and visualising the results. it employs techniques and theories drawn from many fields with
in the broad areas of mathematics, Statistics, information Science and Computer Science in
particular from the sub domains of machine Learning, Classification, Cluster analysis, data
mining and Visualization. He covered concepts like -Introduction,Big
Data,Architecture,Hadoop,R-Language,Storing,processing,Analysis,Visualization
Thefore, the first Day was ended with the Explanation of above concepts
Day 2: 25.07.2017
In the second day N.sudhakar from Vecomnet Pvt Ltd, introduced Web Enabled
Technologies like
o Angular JS (Java Script FrameWork)
o Bootstrap (client side s/w used to develop responsive site)
o JQuery
Angular JS:
1) Advance topic of Java Script Frame work, It starts automatically when the web page
has loaded. It extends HTML attributes with Directives and binds data to HTML with
Expressions.
18
2) Simple programs like converting lower to upper, creating tables, create drop down
list,mouse adjustments,location services,creating welcome(or)inspirational messages.
Bootstrap :
1) To develop –HTML,CSS,Java Script
2) Advantages
3) Classes(XS,SM,MD,LD)
4) Errors display with colors
5) Basic Tables,Bootstrap images
6) Creating Jumbotron
7) Creating Glypicons,basic program bar,drop down list
8) Carousal(different slides appear when ever we open a page)
Day 3: 26.07.2017
In the third day, morning session Suresh Gutur continued the Data science session
o Machine learning
o Hadoop(performs Distributed storage and parallel processing)
o Commodity H/W (less or cheap hardware
o Data Analytics(Process of Examining Data)
o Sources(Mobile devices,networked devices,social networking,internet
transaction)
o Challenges (volume,velocity,variety,veracity)
o Different Data (Structured,semi structured,un structured)
o Hadoop companies(yahoo,IBM,Facebook,Google,Amazon)
o Hadoop distributors(Cloudera,MAPR,Horton works)
o Versions of Hadoop
o Hadoop Architecture
With this completed the morning session
In the afternoon session after completion of lunch, P.Mallikarjuna introduced “IOT”(Internet
of Things)
o Introduction
o Physical Devices and controllers
