- Reviewing slot survey data with dredging site superintendent to plan out short term dredging production - Identifying opportunities for optimizing dredge utilization to meet production targets - Providing good analysis and feedback to the Supervisor Engineering and Superintendent Technical Services

so that effective changes can be made to optimize production. - Assisting with special projects that arise within the planning and projects team

- Assist the Supervisor Engineering with annual budget - preparation for dredging and reclamation cost elements

Stockpile Management

Take part in activities that contribute to the maintenance of the dredge stockpiles. These include; weekly stockpile inspections, 6 monthly audits, weekly checks on monitoring instruments and reporting.

- Inspection: Conduct weekly inspections of the stockpiles, drainage structures, monitoring devises and liaise

with the earthworks section to fix washouts and slips. - Audits: Assist consultants in carrying out 6 monthly audits of the stockpile. - Slope Performance Monitoring: Responsible for the monitoring of slope performance on the stockpiles and

the plug berms, including the investigation and back analyses of failures and other slope instability incidents. - Reporting: Prepare and circulate weekly stockpile maintenance reports

Short Term Planning

Core personnel in managing all short term planning relevant to dredging operations by carrying out the following activities;

- Developing short and medium term plans to ensure they coincide with budgeted targets

- Act as a liaison between the dredging contractor, Earthworks section and Technical Services section to coordinate engineering efforts to ensure short and medium term plans meet the long term objectives

- Arrange and lead short term planning meetings - Conduct regular assessment and monitoring of stockpiles

OHSE & Community Relations

Actively taking part in implementing OTML’s environmental and safety policies and advocate the company’s value of zero harm. Address also all the environmental and community relations issues in a manner that promotes OTML’s visions. I also carry out the following tasks;

- Doing Take 5 when carrying out a task and documenting and reviewing JSAs, SWPs and SOPs before any task is carried out.

- Assist the Supervisor Engineering with Risk Assessment and MoCs related to dredging and reclamation works - Carrying out weekly Job Safety Observations (JSO) and hazard identification and reporting

- Particulate in any safety and environment audits and assessments as required - Receive and relay any community relations issues to the Supervisor Engineering, Superintendent Technical

Services and APD personnel - Providing ideas to address community related issues when they arise

Miscellaneous Duties

Attend to any miscellaneous tasks delegated by my supervisor. These tasks include but are not limited to the following;

- Carry out any additional tasks as delegated by the Supervisor Engineering or the Superintendent Technical Services

- Act as tour guide for all visitors (OTML, consultants, government representatives etc.) to site.

- Present an overview (power point presentation) to all visitors - Sign off on minor documents such as leave forms, waste removal forms and hire dockets when required - Be proactive in continuous improvement initiatives including ICARE and other avenues to maintain productivity

whilst minimizing cost.

Special Project – Assigned to carry out the task to locate the possible Bige landfill area. Location was selected and

project write up was completed for supervisor to review before environment team to accept the proposal. Recently the MoC has been done and discussion was made with the Engineering and Environment team. Team work – participated in any meetings to discuss and contribute ideas towards any discussions made.

Summary

I was recruited as a Contractor Planning Engineer for OTML Bige Dredging Operations through local labour hiring company LBL (LOTIC Bige Limited) to assist OTML Planning Engineer. I liaise and work closely with the Dredeco (Dredging Contractor) Superintendents and Field Operations Supervisors including Environment to ensure key tasks/projects are planned, coordinated and prioritized are executed on time scheduled.I have gained considerable experiences in areas of; short- and medium-term planning for dredging and reclamation works, Stockpile management, general safety (identifying hazards and proposing control measures), safe Pyrite Concentrate (PCon) storage, understanding of tailing waste management, overall facilities management and the general mining operation.
