24.Maude Pinot Gris 2008 11/48(Central Otago) This Central Otago Pinot Gris is sourced from an individual vineyard in Lowburn. The cool climate gives rise to a Pinot Gris with clean, pure aromas of tinned pears, hay and slate. Light, fresh and tangy.

25.Vavasour Pinot Gris 2008 56(Marlborough) This wine is made in a dry style and shows subtle pear and jasmine notes on the nose. The richly structured palate exhibits luscious layers of fruit, with hints of pear and ginger, followed by a long mineral finish.

26.Mahi Twin Valleys Gewurztraminer 13/56The use of wild yeast along with wood and lees stirring adds savoury notes to the floral intensity and Turkish delight characters of the fruit. The aim is for a drier style

WINEREDS29.Cave de Taine Crozes Hermitage 2005 70(France) Intense and delicate aromas of blackberry fruits, with vanilla and roasted notes. Rich on the palate. Strong but smooth tannins with good length with final notes of fresh blackcurrant, cherry and oriental spices.

30.Latitude 41 Pinot Noir 2008 9/40(Nelson/Marlborough) This wine is made from a selection of Nelson and Marlborough grapes. The result is a full bodied wine that has layers of fruit flavours Good structure with mouth filling richness of berry fruits and sweet oak.

31.Kawarau Estate Organic Pinot Noir 2008 77(Central Otago) Displays cherries, blackcurrant and raspberry aromatics and flavours. With gentle tannins, this is a refined and elegant wine.

32.CJ Pask Gimblett Gravels Merlot 2007 10/45(Hawke’s Bay ) This Merlot has juicy, plumy flavours balanced with sweet, subtle oak and supported by a fine tannin structure

33.Angoves Organic Shiraz Cabernet 2007 9/41(South Australia) Deep red with purple hues, this is a spicy and vibrant wine. The fruit aromas on the nose blend well with the spice pepper and soft oak flavours on the palate with a long soft finish.

34.Cypress Syrah 2007 65(Hawke’s Bay) Handpicked fruit was basket pressed to provide gentle extraction resulting in an intense soft mouth filling wine with an attractive lifted fragrance of violets and spices.

WINEREDS35.Turkey Flat Butchers Block Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre 2006 80(South Australia) The Butchers Block Red is a blend of 58% Shiraz, 21% Grenache and 21% Mourvédre. The palate has rich sweet lifted fruits with a hint gaminess and creamy vanillin oak character. The tannin structure is long and restrained with a velvety finish.

36.Goldwater ‘Goldie’ Cabernet Merlot Franc 2005 85(Waiheke Island )The 2005 Goldie has a deep crimson colour right to the edge, with a fragrant aroma of cranberry, dark plums and black liquorice. Straw and spicy oak linger in the background. Rich and thick tannins combine, with aromas that are darker and denser on the palate. The length is intense and appealing.

37.Melini Sangiovese 2002 9/36(Italy) Red cherry and light spicy characters dominate the bouquet and palate with a soft finish.

39.Trinity Hill Gimblett Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2002 85(Hawkes Bay) An excellent vintage. Secondary characters such as cedar, tobacco, spice, leather and licorice derived from barrel aging add to fine tannins and the fruit flavours of cassis, plum and red currant. These have developed further with bottle age, creating an integrated, multi-layered palate.

40.Mt Difficulty Pinot Noir 2008 75(Central Otago) This wine reflects the nature of a warmer vintage displaying great concentration and balance; black cherry and blackberry dominate the aroma and these are underpinned by Christmas cake spice and liquorice. The wine finishes with a lovely velvety combination of tannin, fruit and acidity.
