Announcement Bert M. Wardens Golden South ClassicAfter careful consideration and analysis, Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation has made the decision to discontinue the Bert M. Wardens Golden South Classic Track & Field competition. Golden South Classic holds a reputation as a premier, post-season high school age track and field competition which has consistently attracted athletes from across the nation and beyond. More than 30 former Golden South participants have gone on to become U.S. Olympians.In 1998, a partnership was formed with Arnold Palmer Hospital as the charitable beneficiary and for nearly twenty years, the hospital has greatly benefitted from the event and its success. Supporters are encouraged to remain actively engaged through continued support of the Pediatric Sports Medicine Program which has become a trusted destination for parents to bring their children for sports medicine needs, both regionally and beyond.We thankeveryone who played a role in making the Golden South Classic such a great tradition and long-standing success.
