Now, God’s plan didn’t just end with giving us eternal life. He wants our lives to be exciting and full of meaning.

But, what keeps us from experiencing the full life God intends?

MAN’S PROBLEM 2Our problem lies in our sinfulness. God is holy and cannot tolerate sin.

God created humanity to be with him and to enjoy his presence.

Only because man willfully disobeyed him did sin enter the world and separate us from God.

God’s Word tells us that all of us have sinned.

Our sinful desires and thoughts put us in no position to please God, because God hates sin.

For all all have sinned have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.Romans 3:23

What is the cost of sin?

In God’s word ‘Death’ denotes a separation from something. In this instance it means a separation from God.

What if we take one of these roses and put it in water?

Is it alive, or dead?

Give it more time, and it will look like this.

A rose cut off from its plant is dead because it’s apart from its life source.

We are like that rose, because sin cuts us off from God.

He said that he is the way – not a way, but THE way.

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.Romans 6:23

Jesus Christ paid the penalty for sin on the cross.

Through him,

the gap is finally

bridged.

What guarantee do we have that we are

on the right track? That Jesus is the

way?

When he died, he didn’t stay dead. He

rose after three days. This proves

that he was the powerful Son of

God.

“... he was buried, ... he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…. After that, he appeared to more than 500 of the brothers at the same time…. 1 Corinthians 15:4-6

He was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

MAN’SRESPONSE 4Just knowing these truths is not enough. We need to respond personally to God’s offer of salvation through Jesus Christ.

How?


God’s Word says that salvation is a gift of God and not a result of human works. Not by religion or by sincerity or by obeying laws – it is available only by God’s grace.

It is something we do not deserve and cannot earn.

It is by grace by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the giftgift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.Ephesians 2:8-9

How do you respond to this gift?

We must respond in faith.

Faith simply means believing God’s Word and that he will do exactly as he said he would.

This includes the need to acknowledge our sins before him, because true faith involves turning away from what displeases him.

It means surrendering our lives to God.

Jesus said,

If you and I ask him to come into our lives, he will give us eternal life.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.Revelation 3:20

I will come in to him.I will come in to him.

You can receive Christ right now by simply going to God in prayer. Just talk to him. You might not know the words to say, but he looks deep into your heart to see what you are trying to tell him.

You can pray something like this.

Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins. Thank you for dying for me on the cross. With your help, I will turn away from my sins. Today I am putting my trust in you as my Lord and Savior and I receive you into my heart. Thank you for forgiving my sins and coming into my life. I accept your free gift of eternal life. Thank you that one day I will be with you in heaven. From this day on, I will follow and obey you. Amen.
