Tips for using Gmail more productively
‣ Rapportive, for better contact management
‣ Priority Inbox: Important, non-important
‣ Method: Mark Unread, Archive
‣ All emails are important
‣ Inbox = action items only
‣ Archive all messages that have been processed
‣ They will sit in “All Mail” until someone else updates the thread
‣ Mark messages “Unread” if they need action
‣ Filters: only good for highlighting important people. Skip the inbox
Gmail keyboard shortcuts - Navigation, maintenance
Way faster than clicking buttons
‣ ? - reference
‣ j, k - up and down (advanced)
‣ x - select message (advanced)
‣ <Return> - read message, or “jump in”
‣ e - archive
‣ # - trash (not recommended)
‣ s - star, or rotate star
‣ U - mark as unread
‣ m - mute
