Withinminutes,youcanconnecttoyourmobilenetworkanduseawirelessconnectiontotheInternetthroughthemobilenetwork.GlobeSurfer®IIiscompatiblewithGSMand3GmobilenetworksandsupportsGPRS,EDGE,UMTSandHSDPAtechnologies.Tip:Toachievethebestpossiblereception,checkthesignalstrengthonthedisplayoftheunit(themorebarsthebetterthereception).Youmayfindthatplacingtheunitnearawindowprovidesthebestreception.

Simple set-up

GlobeSurfer®IIprovidesyouwithaquickinstallationandset-upthatgetsyoueasilyandquicklyconnectedtotheInternet.YoucanuseanInternetbrowser(e.g.InternetExplorer6.0orFirefox1.5)andmostpersonalcomputers,includingWindows®,Macintosh®andLinux®.The‘QuickSetupWizard’introducesyoutothebasicsettingsthatneedtobeconfiguredforusewiththemobilenetwork.Onceyouhaveconfigured,youcanreviewandenablecustomisedwirelesssecuritysettings.

YourGlobeSurfer®IIsupportsNetworkAddressTranslation(NAT).Thisnetworkservicehidesthecomputersinyournetworksotheycannotbefoundordirectlyaccessedfromoutsideyournetwork.Afirewallisalsoincludedwhich,bydefault,blocksincomingtrafficandallowsoutgoingtraffic.
