• The National Drug Agency (NDA) was formed in 1996 as a result of merger between the Pasukan Petugas Antidadah and the Treatment and Rehabilitation Division.

• On 2004, the Malaysian Government Cabinet agreed to a formation of the Policy Coordinating Machinery to Fight Drug Menace.

• National Drug Agency was changed to become the National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA) in year 2004.

• 53.9% of drugs dependent are on opiates; 33.1% on cannabis and 8.2% on ATS (2009).

• 47.82% of drugs dependent are an opiates; 18.08% on ATS and 10.96% on cannabis (Jan-March 2010).

• Increase in ATS abusers.

• Drug abusers in Malaysia is serious but under control.
