What do Global Shapers do?

Global Shapers undertake activities that generate a positive

impact by increasing each individual Shaper’s ability to

opportunities for Shapers to have local and global impact.

The Global Shapers Community is energised by the many

interactions generated inside each hub, between hubs and on a

global level.

What do they do?

Local Hubs

— Local Hubs are established in major cities around the world

— Joining the Global Shapers Community begins by joining a local

hub. Local hubs are committed to local impact and are designed

to be local in focus, activity and governance.

— Local Hubs interact and collaborate across borders on global or

regional projects, to gain insight and impact the global dimension

— Hubs will provide Shapers with the opportunity to actively develop

and contribute to initiatives which focus on future-oriented

challenges that this community is uniquely positioned to address

— The local hub must remain impartial and independent and therefore

cannot be formed on any political, cultural, racial or religious basis

Page 14: Global Shapers Community - Presentation

What do they do?

Local Hubs

— Each local hub is organised in an autonomous way and must

develop its own Guidelines

— Each hub develops its own activities/programming, including:

— events that facilitate interaction between members of a hub - strengthen linkages

between Shapers and the local community - strengthen linkages between Shapers and

the global community

(i.e. Social gathering, Hub visits, regional shapers meetings, trainings,…)

— opportunities to give Shapers the knowledge and the insight that leads to a deeper

understanding of global, regional, national and industry issues

(i.e meet Young Global Leaders, Social Entrepreneurs, Technology Pioneers,…)

— undertaking at least one project with local impact each year

— Each hub selects a « Curator » to act as the hub Chair. The Curator,

together with the « past » Curator and the « next » Curator, form the

Curatorship of each Hub and are responsible for governing its

affairs and ensuring that its activities reflect positively on the Global

Shapers Community and the World Economic Forum in the spirit of

entrepreneurship in the global public interest.
