With photography from Powerhouse, we worked together to create a litrature suite for Abbeycrest in Leeds. We believe that good photography goes hand in hand with good design, and the results were clear to see.

“ Great photography intergrated with great graphic design proved a massive success ”

Book cover design is all about conveying the general gist of the story, without giving too much away. Robin Bayley needed more than a cover for his soon to be published book “The Mango Orchard” he needed a look and feel that would translate to web, and other promotional collateral.

“ I felt that Giles provided a cover that helped get across what this book is about”

Arena is one of the largest independent sellers of photocopiers in the North of England. Their brief was to ‘evolutionise, not revolutionise’ – in other words, modernise their existing brand.

They chose Giles Cooke Design over a number of other agencies, as we quickly proved we understood their product offerings and brand values. This not only allowed us to produce design work that accurately reflects the company, it also meant we could contribute ideas to their marketing strategy.

Tom Whiteley Marketing Manager, Arena Group

“ Excellent. Not just good design, but good design that reflects our brand values”

Helping products to market

PD-M International specialise in bringing products to market, they approached us to see how we could help them develop as a brand. It turns out many their clients needed that opportunity too. Many of them were people with ideas, but a lack of marketing expertise was hindering their business development. That’s where we came in providing marketing support where they really needed it .

Richard Hall Manager Director, PD-M International

“ New products need new brands, new packaging, new ideas, it helps galvanise them into a tough marketplace”

4Site Security Services first approached us about streamlining their brand for the next few years. The starting point was a logo that had been in place for a few years which we modified - this was to retain their existing brand recognition. We developed a coherent brand look - strong blacks and the ‘green strike’ - which now appears on all literature. The net result is a new black carpet at 4Site headquarters!

One of the worlds largest publishers

Our relationship with Dorling Kindersley has developed over the years. From marketing collateral to web banners and advertising, we have supplied DK with a varied work. Much of it is aimed at younger generations, but sometimes more direct sales material is required for a mature market.

Tight deadlines and a strong relationship ensure great results for Dorling Kindersley

Samantha Blackburn Leeds City Council, Arts Department

We’ve been working with Leeds Council on the Gallery 37 project for over two years. The campaign is to raise awareness among 15 to 18 year olds who can gain valuable work experience in the Arts sector. Promotional literature, including posters, flyers and postcards, ensures the information gets out to its target audience.

“ Great creative work, delivered on time and within our budget”

Packaging

Winner of Channel 4’s Grand Designs best eco product Savasocket detects when household products are not being used, when it has found products not in use, it cuts the power so it isn’t left on stand-by for days. When you pick up your remote to turn the product on, it recognises it and turns the power on.

We were asked to supply packaging concepts through to production.

James Dunne Managing Director, electrotech

“ We were delighted with the results for Savasocket”

When the One Eyed Cat launched in Truro, Cornwall, it needed complete branding – including logo, menu set, advertising and company apparel. Our award winning design helps the restaurant’s aim to be a fun and friendly place to eat.

Kids’ questionnaire making waves in Yorkshire

After a 6 way pitch, this design solution won through with the people at Connexions West Yorkshire. The brief was to produce a piece of literature that would engage with the teenage target group. The pitch was presented to a group of twenty 15 year olds and they loved its colourful look and folding design.

From concept presentation to design and print delivery, this questionnaire deserved a big hand.

We were asked to design, print, frame and deliver 100 units for Wychwood Breweries showcasing their real ale brands for the coming year. These have proved a real (ale) success for the brewery and their top pubs - who are showing improved sales since the units went up.

A restaurant dream turns into reality

Harry Khinda realised his dream and set up his new restaurant in Saltaire specialising in Authentic Indian Cuisine. We supplied a memorable brand, including Signage, Corp ID, and the innovative ‘slash’ menu.

Branding and literature design proved a success for the stylish new restaurant.
