Able, gifted and talented learners are those students who show anoutstandingability inoneoracrossaselectionofsubjects in relation totheStKatherinesschoolcommunity.

    Identification

    At St Katherines we start from a principle that identification and provision of able, gifted andtalentedlearnersisinseparable.Wespotpotential,toensurethatitisallowedtoflourish.

    AtStKatherineswehaveawholeschoolregisterof Aspiring Learners, identified as the 10% ofeach group. This cohort is representative ofgender,ethnicityandsocioeconomiccontext.AtStKatherinesourAble,GiftedandTalentedLearners are identified by teachers on anindividual learner level. Identification isbasedonspecific departmental criteria guided by theSchools ethos,quantitative andqualitativedataand through discussion with the learner,parent/carerandcolleagues.
