IPS In-line, IPS In-line PoMPorcelain to metal restorations have long been an established standard in dentistry. Metal - ceramic crowns and bridges may last over 10 years but there are many patients throughout the world with the metal-ceramic that have lasted more than 20 years and still look like the real thing.

Gibson Dental Designs is proud to offer a step-up in metal- ceramic restorations with “IPS In-line” and “IPS In-line PoM” from Ivoclar. “In-line” porcelains can be used as a conventional build-up, or as a pressed to metal restoration. “In-line” can be used on implants, single units or bridges. “In-line” is also compatible with metals from high noble to non-precious, depending on the indication and requirements of the patient.

In conventional build-ups the grain size distribution and fabrication procedures of the “IPS In-line” have been adjusted to produce targeted and consistent results. The “In-line PoM” ingots used for pressed to metal restorations produce full anatomical restorations after opaque has been applied. The absence of the need for ceramic layering delivers consistent and aesthetic crowns and bridges. The accuracy of the fit of these crowns are comparable to that of all ceramic

restorations. The shading is true-to-life effects and should the dentist need to make a minor adjustment, these restorations are easily and quickly polished.

One of the excellent characteristics of these “IPS In-line” restorations is the wear ability. This low wearing porcelain is gentle on the opposing dentition, and increases the longevity of the

restoration. “ IPS In-line and IPS In-line PoM” can both be conventionally cemented with the cement of your choice. The marginal prep recommended is a champher, but a butt joint margin can be used if needed.
