Ghost Effect

Copy Background Layer

• You don’t want to work in your Background layer,

• use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+J

• In the new layer dialog box name your layer desaturated

Desaturate The Background Copy Layer

•With my "desaturated" layer selected in the Layers palette•Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+U• Your image should be black and white

Copy layer• Copy your

desaturated layer use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+J

• In the new layer dialog box name your layer motion blur

Motion Blur•Go to

Filter>Blur>Motion Blur

•Set angle to 0

•And distance to 95

Your image should look something like this

Add Layer Mask

• With the "motion blur" layer selected, click on the "Add Layer Mask" icon at the bottom of the Layers palette

Revealing your face

•Click on your brush tool or push B on your keyboard•Then press D to make sure your foreground color is black•At the top of your screen in the Options Bar and set the opacity to 10%•Your picture should look similar to that >

Apply Diffuse Glow Filter

• Merge all three layers by using the shortcut Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E

• Go to FILTER>DISTORT>DIFFUSE GLOW

• Change Graininess to 3,

• Glow Amount to 10, • Clear Amount 10

Add a Solid Fill Color

• Click on the New Fill Or Adjustment Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette

• And pick solid color

Final Step• Choose the

color you wish to use. I chose green.

• Change the layer blend mode to color

• And the opacity to 11%

And there you have it the ghost effect!
