• What are your organization’s main objectives and activities related to deforestation associated with

commodity production?

• Currently, what key challenges you are facing in reaching these objectives?

Instructions Round robin of answers with timer, max 90 seconds per participant, don’t need to take notes.

Question 1 – 10 min

• How do you currently use GFW Commodities (or if a new/potential user what do you envision doing

given current site capacitie?

Instructions: round robin of answers; Note takers report on big sheets of paper, full list of responses, as well as noting if multiple people are using in the similar ways.

Question 2 – 10 minutes

• What do you wish GFW Commodities could do to help you address your challenges that it currently

doesn’t support?

Instructions: Open discussion format. Note taker lists all potential ideas. Discuss the ideas, identify key types of “wishes”, which are most important/most popular. At the end of discussion, all participants are given sticky notes – they then get up and vote for their

top three choices.

Question 3 – 20 minutes

• What are the key strengths and weaknesses/gaps of GFW Commodities

• Of the weaknesses/gaps, which should we (GFW) focus on versus which are beyond the scope of our work/better addressed by other

initiatives?

Instructions: Participants start by writing 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses down on sticky notes, then placing them on the butcher paper provided, separating the “gaps/weaknesses” into those we (GFW) should address versus those

beyond the scope of our work. Brief discussion to summarize results (can move things from one category to another)

Question 4 – 10 minutes

Wrap Up – 10 min• Share the top “wish list” items from your group

and any other key messages that came out of your discussions
