    GFOA encourages students in the field of government finance and offers annual scholarships for full- and part-time students (all scholarships are for graduate-level students unless otherwise indicated).

    FULL-TIME:

    Goldberg-Miller Public Finance Scholarship Relationship to state/local government finance

    Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship

    Graduate or Upper-Level Undergraduate Accounting

    Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship Finance/Accounting or Business Admin. (with a focus on government or nonprofit)

    PART-TIME:

    Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship

    Finance/Accounting or Business Admin. (with a focus on government or nonprofit) Employed at least two years by one or more state/local governments

    Jeffrey L. Esser Career Development Scholarship Finance/Accounting or Business Admin. (with a focus on government or nonprofit) Employed at least three years by one or more state/local governments

    Considering the cost of college tuition, it was my goal to graduate from my MPA program before my children graduated from high school in 2016 and 2019. I accomplished that goal in May 2015 with a 4.0 GPA.

    During graduate school, the scholarship propelled me to graduate Magna Cum Laude. Through the scholarship program, I met with prominent government officials who have remained in contact with me as I move forward with my career.
