found that the grass­fed meat I am buying was so much more juicy and delicious that what I hadpreviously been choking down (in fact, before paleo I ate a largely vegetarian diet). This challenge has been a fantastically freeing experience. I have struggled to lose the weight afterhaving my second baby (who is now 2 1/2). Not because I don’t want to, not because I haven’t tried, notbecause I hate to exercise. I enjoy eating healthy, and I enjoy exercise. I have struggled because I am anemotional eater. In the past, I have been able to “diet” down a few pounds, then “work off” another few; only to gain it allback at an incredibly fast rate. Why? Because I would get stuck in a vicious cycle. For example: we mighthave decided one night to order pizza as a ‘reward’ for losing a few pounds, eating healthy, and exercisingregularly. After eating a slice or two I still would not be satisfied, so I would keep eating. Then guilt wouldset in (“Oh my! I just ate SIX PIECES!”) So I would tell myself “I’ll do better tomorrow.” So the next day Iwouldn’t eat much of anything until well after lunch time, then would feel so famished that I would devourchips, candy, crackers, etc… This would happen for 2, then 3, then 4 days. The scale would creep up andup and up. The more junk I would eat, the worse I would feel (psychologically AND physically), whichmade it me less likely to exercise. Extreme diligence to lose a few pounds would be jeopardized with justone ‘cheat’ meal.However, with the paleo challenge – I have been able to eliminate those cycles of guilt and binge eating.Why? Because I feel good. All the time. One bite of processed food is enough – enough to make me feelill, and enough to make me stop eating it. Thus ending that cycle!! As an added bonus – on the days I’m not able to exercise, I don’t beat myself up about it. Because

Having never before attempted a ‘Paleo’ lifestyle, I have to say I truly enjoyed the program!!
