a NETWORK of Nation Builders who are committed to building

Nigeria into a world’s most desirable nation to live in.

driven by civil society and private sector

This model will then be replicated across all other African nations.

Our Board of Trustees comprises credible and exemplary Nigerians led by the

esteemable Dr. Christopher Kolade. Other members include Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu,

Prof. Pat Utomi, Mrs. Ibunkun Awosika, Mr. Afolabi Andu and Mrs. Adeola Azeez.

The compounding complications of decaying values in our society

have clearly reached an alarming stage.

It is safe to say that Nigeria has arrived at the point of an unsustainable societal decline.

Much more than talk about the problem, something critical must be done immediately to

infuse the right values into the consciousness and social ethos of our nation.

It is amazing to think that if in Nigeria’s current decadent state,

we are Africa’s largest economy, then one can only imagine

what the size of our economy would become

if we could build Nigeria into a most desirable nation to live in.

In just eight hours, GEMSTONE mobilized a team of over 2,000 excited volunteers – including Nigeria’s music stars, Nollywood’s finest, business leaders, students, LASTMA officials, policemen and area boys - to paint 296 HOUSES in MUSHIN

free of charge in the largest urban renewal volunteer project in history.

RAISE is an acronym for Revive Academic excellence In Schools & Educational institutions).

In November 2008, Project RAISE was launched in Oyo State.

In just 10 days, 48,150 students and 6,000 teachers were trained

SIMULTANEOULSY in 22 empowerment centers across the state to consistently

deliver academic excellence.

The result… Oyo State went from position number 23 in NECO Ranking of

States in the previous year (2008) to number 3 in 2009.

This has been the most significant performance improvement in Nigeria’s

educational history.

GEMSTONE GLOBAL READING FESTIVAL (GGRF)

On Saturday November 24, 2012 GEMSTONE GROUP launched the first-ever SIMULTANEOUS global reading of a book

– “17 Secrets of High Flying Students” - in 17 CITIES in Nigeria and 9 COUNTRIES across the world at the same moment in time

(via live streaming) – supported by Airtel Nigeria.with FIRST LADIES of six Nigerian states as Lead Readers .

The largest-ever book reading attempt globally to promote academic excellence, youth leadership and world peace.

As a non-governmental, non-political and not-for-profit leadership institution,

we seek opportunities to deliver accelerated national transformation on a

sustainable basis through the “SYNERGY” of the network and financial support

of our 1. Partners 2. Donors & 3. Sponsors.

Our funding structure is based on our Partners, Donors and Sponsors (PDS) model

• PARTNERS commit to regular financial support of any amount of their choice;

monthly, quarterly and annually.

• DONORS are irregular financial supporters who make occasional donations of

any amount of their choice.

• SPONSORS partner with us on specific projects and programs in cash and kind.

This type of financial commitment is usually mutually beneficial to both parties

and guarantees visibility for the sponsor except if otherwise stated.

As our operations scale up nationwide, our greatest needs are

1) HUMAN RESOURCE CAPABILITIES in form of skilled man power (staff

and volunteers)

2) FINANCIAL CAPACITY to meet our ADMINISTRATIVE expenses and

sustain our OPERATIONS.

Our Administrative expenses typically include salaries for staff as well as

allowances for volunteers, rent, diesel and power etc. for our

administrative office and transportation.

Our Operational expenses include acquisitions of computers, laptop,

internet modem etc.

We also have SPECIAL PROJECTS such as the completion of an 84-SEATER

AUDITORIUM / TRAINING HALL to enhance our regular training capacity.

The hall which has been constructed up to roofing level will be

completed, finished and furnished for an estimated cost of

N5,000,000.00 (Five Million Naira only).

GEMSTONE is looking for endowment funding for the auditorium and we

will be happy to name the auditorium after a sole funder. Alternatively,

in the event that the contribution that comes from multiple sources, we

will specially acknowledge and appreciate our donors on a prominent

plaque strategically placed on the auditorium walls.
