PRECIOUS METALA Precious metal is a rare, naturally occurring metallic chemical element of high economic value.
GOLD and SILVER are the two precious metals which are both found in the Philippines.
Gold• Gold is usually in the free state
and at times in mixture with other minerals. Gold may be in the form of flakes or nuggets and when found in loose materials.
• The principal producers of gold are South Africa, UNITED States, Russia, and Canada.
Silver• Silver was one of the earliest
metals known to humans, and it has been considered a precious metal.
Non-Metalic minerals
• The non-metallic minerals are given secondary importance when compared with those of the metallic mineral. Diamonds and other precious stones such as emeralds, rubies and sapphires are also classified as non-metallic minerals.
CLAY
• Clay is a general term including many combinations of one or more clay minerals with traces of metal oxides and organic matter.
• Clay is used in the manufacture of roofing tiles, refractory bricks, and other ceramic projects.
Construction materials
• Construction material such as gravel, sand, earth, and sandstones are found in abundant quantities throughout the country.

Guano and phosphate• Guano consists of ammonium oxalate
and urate, phosphates, as well as some earth salts and impurities.
• Rock phosphate a rock that consists largely of calcium phosphate usually together with other minerals (as calcium carbonate), is used in making fertilizers, and is a source of phosphorus compounds
• Guano and Rock phosphate occur in limestone caves in nearly every province bordering the sea, but the chief deposits are found in Zambales, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Cebu and Pangasinan.
LIMESTONE
• Limestone deposits are found extensively in many parts of the country. It is the principal raw material in the manufacture of cement.
MARBLE
Marble a metamorphic rock consisting primarily of calcite and dolomite.Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate .Dolomite is a carbonate mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate.
SILICA• The chemical compound
silicon dioxide, also known as silica or silox (from the Latin "silex").
• Silica is most commonly found in nature as sand or quartz. It is a principal component of most types of glass and substances such as concrete.
SULPHUR• Sulphur occurs in three
forms, (a) from iron pyrites which is the biggest source of our sulphur. (b) as elemental sulphur which occurs in the vicinity of sulfatoras and fumarolic volcanoes. (c) as sulphates of other metals as sulphates of copper and other sulphides.
