About the Geist Half Marathon Inc.

The Geist Half Marathon Inc. is an Indiana notfor profit corporation (501c3) organized toinspire health and wellness in the childrenliving around Geist Reservoir in Indianapolis,Indiana. Working closely with the greater Geistcommunity, the Geist Half Marathon raisesfunds to benefit physical fitness programsbeing jointly implemented within the schools.

In it’s inaugural year, the race field was soldout with 4,500 registered participants raising$20,000 for Hamilton Southeastern andLawrence Township schools. Last year, thefield increased to 6,000 participants and wassold out for the second year in a row, raisingover $60,000 for local schools.

Your company’s sponsorship supports the on-going programs being developed with theschools, encouraging children of all ages tomake healthy lifestyle choices early in life. 2009 Race Statistics$60,000 Raised for Local Schools

$20,000 donated to both Hamilton Southeastern and Lawrence Township Schoolsearmarked for health and wellness programs. Additional grants given to Mt. Ver-non School Foundation and St. Simon the Apostle School. Remaining funds arebeing dispersed through a new Geist Half Grant Program in early 2010.
