Example GCSE Revision Plan 2017 – MFL
1. Firefly is being developed to help with vocabulary learning and with sound
files to help prepare for Unit 1 and 2 Listening and Reading Exams
2. Vocab Power Points (which allow pupils to learn the words interactively and also on their phones).
3. Recorded sound files of CHT saying the vocab in different orders so pupils can recognise how the words are pronounced and also test themselves in preparation for the listening exam. This is also in response to last year - pupils were scoring highly on reading papers but not listening as they were mispronouncing words as they were learning them.
4. The Power Points and sound files are posted fortnightly on Firefly and pupils are tested on the same set of words for two weeks running (once reading, once listening) to allow the vocab to become more deeply embedded in their memories. Pupils will have access to this vocab until their exams.
5. Active Learn is being used to allow pupils to access Foundation / Higher listening and reading exercises and vocabulary, as appropriate. The vocab will be available until June.
6. All students have Edexcel Revision Guides to access L and R activities at Foundation and
Higher level - these are used in class and at home for private revision.
