Il progetto delle“Due scuole verdi” in Uganda

Pronti, attenti, via. È il maggio 2012, 16 mesi per ottimizzare le due scuole di Kakolyie edi Musupo in Karamoja, Uganda. Un impegno di 75.180 euro.

Il Karamoja confina a nord con il Sudan, ad est con il Kenya. gSe mio figlio di due anni vi-q pvesse qui, peserebbe 8 chili invece di 12, la circonferenza del suo braccio sarebbe di 125mm.La mattina non sarebbe sui banchi di scuola, ma fuori con le mandrie di mucche.

Sono dodici le tribù di guerrieri Karimojong, una lingua ed una cultura diversa per ognunadi loro. Le mucche sono simbolo di ricchezza, mezzo di scambio e fonte di prosperità col-

lettiva, ma anche di raid e di guerriglie. Secondo uno studio dell’IRIN, Changing attitudes to education in Karamoja” (2008), in Kara-moja più è sicuro il cibo nelle scuole, più sono gli alunni che frequentano. È da qui chepartiamo. p g p qIl progetto copre tre i settori di intervento: l’acqua, l’educazione, la sicurez-

za alimentare.Nella regione l’acqua è scarsa. Sei litri per persona al giorno. Quando noi tiriamo lo sciac-quone, ne consumiamo dieci. Nelle due scuole abbiamo riabilitato ed installato i sistemi diraccolta dell’acqua piovana, ora raccolgono 37.000 litri, 12.000 litri a Musupo e 25.000litri a Kakolyie. Per le due mense degli alunni abbiamo costruito due cucine con stufe a

basso consumo di legna. p gg q ggLa deforestazione è uno dei problemi maggiori quaggiù.Sono buie le cifre che caratterizzano il Karamoja, come sono buie le aule scolastiche. AMoroto non c’è una linea di corrente elettrica. Chi può permetterselo, usa la forza del sole,che qui non manca. Nelle due scuole abbiamo installato due impianti di pannelli solari, il-

luminando così alcune aule.Con l’apertura delle scuole a febbraio avviamo l’attività agricola, costruendo orti, instal-lando un sistema di irrigazione a goccia – per garantire la raccolta anche durante la sta-gione secca -, facendo work-shop sulle tecniche agricole ad insegnanti ed alunni. srooms.With the school beginning in February we are launching the agricultural activities, building vegetable and fruit gardens, installing a water drop irrigation system – granting the har-vesting also during dry season -, holding work-shops on agricultural techniques to teachers

and students. g jThe work in the gardens will be real school subject for them.With the payment of the last part of 12.548,59 Euros, in May 2013 we will be closing this

“Quaggiù non ci torno più, neanche morto”. Quando i tempi erano tosti (sparatorie, imboscate, tutti gi-ravano armati di Kalashnikov) è arrivato in Karamoja Alessandro, bergamasco originario della Val Camoni-ca. Era l’anno 2000, si viaggiava soltanto di notte per fuggire alle imboscate e alle rapine e di certo la sua intenzione era di non rimanerci un istante in più del previsto.Che interessante la vita! Ora vive lì da più di die-ci anni, parla il Karimojong, ha sposato Florance (una Karimojong) ed ha due bellissimi figli: Mario e Margherita. È il coordinatore italiano dei proget-ti ISP in Karamoja ma in pratica è uno di loro, gli hanno assegnato un nome Morusapir “MONTAGNA CESPU-GLIOSA” (che ci azzecca alla perfezione) ed ha una caratteristica non comune tra noi italiani: è sin-cero, non opera per il proprio interesse e ascolta.Gira il paese con la sua moto e il rispetto che gli riserva la comunità si respira perfino da qui, ascoltando la sua testimonianza. Elide, Merch e Gu sono tornati dall’Africa con un video girato in una foresta, Elide e Merch lo intervistano, Gu riprende. Ci sono dei bimbi karimojong vicino a lui, un gira-sole, in lontananza un fuoco che fa fumo. Lui è se-duto su un sasso, ha uno zaino addosso, un paio di occhiali da vista, capelli alla “Einstein” ma meno grigi, un bastone impugnato sulla mano sinistra. Ha un simpatico accento bergamasco. Non dispensa sag-gezze. È semplicemente vero. È semplicemente auten-tico.Alessandro, sei davvero un figo. “Pota che figo!”

“I will never come back again, not even dad”. When times were hard (gun fights, ambushes, everyone was armed with Kalashnikov) Alessandro arrived to Kara-moja. He is from the Val Camonica, near Bergamo. It was the year 2000, one could only travel by night, in order to escape ambushes and robberies. One thing was sure to him, not to remain a moment longer than planned. How life goes! Now he is li-ving there since more than ten years, speaks Karimojong, is married to Florance (a Kari-mojong) and has two beautiful children: Mario and Margheri-ta. Alessandro is Italian, project coordinator for ISP in Karamoja, but practically he is one of them, they named him Morusapir “BUSHY MOUNTAIN” (which perfectly fits him) and he has a unusual characteri-stic for us Italians: he is honest, is not handling in his own interests and knows how to listen. Alessandro travels the land on his motorbike and you can li-terally feel the deep respect the community deserves him, listening to his statements. Elide, Merch and Gu returned from Africa with a video shot in a forest, Elide and Merch are interviewing him, Gu is filming. There are Karimojong children, a sunflower, a bit farer some smoky fire. Ales-sandro is sitting on a stone, a backpack on, glasses, “Ein-stein” hair but not as grey as the originals, a cane in his left hand. He has a friendly accent. He is not saying wisdoms. “Di solito è il grande donatore (WFP – World Food Program -,Unicef , Governi ecc.) a deline-are le line guida del progetto ed ad esporre i bandi con le diramazioni e le attività che vuo-le finanziare. A quel punto le ONG stendono i loro progetti seguendo le direttive del bando “dall’alto”.La nascita dei progetti di ISP si discosta nel-la modalità che la maggior parte delle ONG se-gue, noi partiamo “dal basso”, assieme alla realtà che vogliamo aiutare, analizziamo il problema e cerchiamo di dare una risposta. La comunità è parte attiva nella elaborazione del progetto e successivamente anche nella realiz-zazione. Ossia i progetti non sono solo PER la popolazione ma anche CON la popolazione.Essendo progetti di sviluppo , sono progetti pluriennali, a lungo termine. Al donatore tut-tavia presentiamo il progetto in passi annuali, sia perché ormai sono pochissimi (purtroppo) i donatori che accettano di finanziare progetti pluriennali, sia perché in questo modo possiamo modificare il nostro intervento se vediamo che alcune azioni necessitano di essere cambiate o migliorate.”

“Usually the great donor (like WFP – World Food Program -, Unicef, Governements etc.) give a guide line for a project they wish to fund, then they call for proposals showing branches and activities they want to sustain. Following the ONG write their projects as from the propo-sal guide lines “from above”. ISP projects are born in in a different way, as usual ONG projects do. We start from “the bot-tom”, together with the realities in need, we analyze the problem and try to give an answer. The community is active part in the working out of the project and in its realization. The projects are not only FOR the people, but WITH the people. Being development projects, we talk about multi-year, long term projects. Althou-gh, to the interested donors we offer the projects in one year steps, as nowadays very few (unluckily) are the donors ready to give multiyear funding, and as in this way we are able to adapt and change our interventions gra-dually, revising the project steps following the real needs of the moment.”

Uganda, settembre 2012. In viaggio da Kampala verso Muko-no, Marco ci racconta della Ssezibwa Demonstration Farm. Ne siamo entusiasti. Ci siamo impegnati per 25.000 euro da maggio 2012 a maggio 2013, per sostenere l’avvio dell’attività. È stato Hannington ad avere l’idea. Ha chiesto aiuto ad Insieme si può… in Africa. D’altron-de Hannington da tempo sono amici, da quando ISP… in Africa gli pagò gli studi. Ora il cerchio si chiude, ed è lui a fare qualcosa per la comunità.

La Ssezibwa Demonstration Farm è una CBO locale, che vuole migliorare il reddito delle famiglie della comunità, introducendola a nuove tecniche migliorative in agricoltura ed in allevamento.

I campi di intervento sono la responsabiliz-zazione economica, la produzione alimenta-re, la salute. All’interno della comunità sono scelte 185 famiglie bisognose ed altri dieci singoli membri svantaggiati (siero-positivi, disabili, vedove con famiglia…), che verranno introdotti a processi di responsabilizzazione economica e pro-duttiva, esposti a conoscenze pratiche sull’agricoltura e sull’allevamento.L’obiettivo della farm è l’emancipa-zione di almeno 60 famiglie attra-verso la costante tutorship dell’or-ganizzazione sulla propria attività. Il numero di beneficiari

diretti è stimato a 100 membri della comunità e le loro famiglie, altri 100 membri tra donne incinte, anziani e famiglia con bambini sotto i 5 anni e 10 persone sieropositive. Il totale dei beneficiari indiretti dopo tre anni sarà di sette volte maggiore.

La comunità viene formata in ambito zootecnico, agricolo e domestico da Hannington ed i suoi collaboratori locali, in cambio dell’aiuto nell’attività della farm. Noi per loro abbiamo acquistato una cippatrice, 1000 pulcini, 40 ma-ialiani ed 1 tonnellata di sementi. Al momento sono in atto i lavori per l’installazione di una pompa solare che riuscirà a portare l’acqua ai campi con energia rinnovabile e più effi-cienza. Abbiamo inoltre avviato l’allevamento di tilapia, che verrà distribuito a madri in-cinte per un miglioramento della loro dieta.

La farm funziona secondo un ciclo di autoso-stentamento: ai membri scelti nella comunità vengono distribuiti tra pulcini, maialini e se-menti per la propria attività. Una parte dei pulcini, maialini o delle sementi che ne risul-teranno, dovranno essere riconsegnati alla farm per essere poi ridistribuiti ad ulteriori bene-ficiari. È così che dall’attività del singolo, nasce l’aiuto all’intera comunità. Grazie Han-nington.

gg ggda maggio 2012 a maggio 2013, per sostenere l’avvio dell’attività. È stato Hannington ad avere l’idea. Ha chiesto aiuto ad Insieme si può… in Africa. D’altron-de Hannington da tempo sono amici, da quando ISP… in Africa gli pagò gli studi. Ora il cerchio si chiude, ed è lui a fare qualcosa per la comunità.

La Ssezibwa Demonstration Farm è una CBO locale, che vuole migliorare il reddito delle famiglie che vuole migliorare il reddito delle famiglie della comunità, introducendola a nuove tecnichemigliorative in agricoltura ed in allevamento.

I campi di intervento sono la responsabiliz-zazione economica, la produzione alimenta-re, la salute. All’interno della comunità sono scelte 185 famiglie bisognose ed altri dieci singoli membri svantaggiati (siero-positivi, disabili, vedove con famiglia…), che verranno introdotti a processi di responsabilizzazione economica e pro-duttiva, esposti a conoscenze pratiche sull’agricoltura e sull’allevamento.L’obiettivo della farm è l’emancipa-zione di almeno 60 famiglie attra-verso la costante tutorship dell’or-ganizzazione sulla propria attività. Il numero di beneficiari

diretti è stimato a 100 membri della comunità e le loro famiglie, altri 100 membri tra donne incinte, anziani e famiglia con bambini sotto i 5 anni e 10 persone sieropositive. Il totale dei beneficiari indiretti dopo tre anni sarà di sette volte maggiore.

La comunità viene formata in ambito zootecnico, agricolo e domestico da Hannington ed i suoi agricolo e domestico da Hannington ed i suoi collaboratori locali, in cambio dell’aiuto nell’attività della farm. Noi per loro abbiamo acquistato una cippatrice, 1000 pulcini, 40 ma-ialiani ed 1 tonnellata di sementi. Al momento sono in atto i lavori per l’installazione di una pompa solare che riuscirà a portare l’acqua ai campi con energia rinnovabile e più effi-cienza. Abbiamo inoltre avviato l’allevamento di tilapia, che verrà distribuito a madri in-cinte per un miglioramento della loro dieta.

La farm funziona secondo un ciclo di autoso-stentamento: ai membri scelti nella comunità vengono distribuiti tra pulcini, maialini e se-menti per la propria attività. Una parte dei pulcini, maialini o delle sementi che ne risul-teranno, dovranno essere riconsegnati alla farm per essere poi ridistribuiti ad ulteriori bene-ficiari. Quando Michil Costa nel 2008, è stato ospite nel mio tal-kshow, mi ha raccontato della Costa Family Foundation, del loro impegno nel voler dare un futuro ai giovani ti-betani in esilio in India. Ho iniziato a fare qualche ricerca e subito ho capito: anch’io voglio dare una mano. Assieme al mio amico, il cameraman Lukas Kobler, ho deci-so di girare un documentario sulla Costa Family Founda-tion, per comunicare i loro progetti e i loro obiettivi, per poterli portare più vicini alla gente ed incitarli a

contribuire. Proprio così, nel giugno del 2009 siamo partiti per il nord dell’India assieme a Michil, Joe, Manuel, Gustav e mErCh, per vedere da vicino l’attività della Costa

Family Foundation. L’incontro con i bambini profughi all’interno del TCV (Tibetan Children’s Village) a Leh, il colloquio con i responsabili in loco, l’intervista a Mada-me Jetsun Pema sono soltanto alcuni degli indimenticabili momenti che ancora oggi mi riempiono di speranza. La di-gnità dei tibetani in esilio e la loro profonda fede in un ritorno nella propria madre terra, mi hanno impressionato

profondamente. Da allora Lukas ed io ogni anno sosteniamo un progetto di beneficenza di una fondazione sudtirolese diversa, in qualche parte del mondo. Proprio là, dove è necessario

When Michil Costa has been guest in my talk show in 2008, he told me about the Costa Family Foundation, about their commitment to give the young exiled Tibetans in India a future. I have started some research, and very soon I understood: I want to join the cause. Together with a friend of mine, the cameraman Lukas Ko-bler, I decided to make documentary about the Costa Family Foundation. A film through which communicate their projects and their goals, and bring them near to the people, encouraging them to en-dorse the foundation.

Like this, in June 2009 we were leaving for Nor-thern India, together with Michil, Joe, Manuel Gustav and mErCh, going to see the Costa Family Foundation’s activity on-site. The encounter with the refugee chil-dren at the TCV (Tibetan Children’s Village) in Leh, the speech with the person in charge there, the interview to Madame Jetsun Pema are only some of the unforgettable mo-ments which still fill my inner with hope. The di-gnity of the Tibetans in exile, their true belie-ve in returning to their homeland one day, have

deeply impressed me.Since then, Lukas and I every year sustain a different charity project somewhere in the world, of foundations based in Südtirol. For a help, right there where it’s needed. Because helping helps.

In Tibet non sono ammessi alcuni giornalisti stranieri e osservatori indipendenti per documentare la situazione re-ale. Quale tibetana, capisco la pena del popolo tibetano e la loro sof-ferenza, deprivati della libertà di religione, di lingua e di cultura,

deprivati della loro identità.Sfortunatamente il governo cinese non sta facendo niente per investiga-re sulle cause che portano i tibetani al disperato atto di infiammarsi, oltre ad arrestare ancora ed ancora, punendoli con lunghe prigionie e denunciandoli quali “criminali” e “terroristi”. La situazione nei mona-steri tibetani rimane buia e colma di arresti arbitrari, detenzioni, sparizioni, ingiuste condanne di monaci e monache, oltre a tibetani

laici. Monaci al di sotto dei 18 anni addirittura vengono espulsi.È chiaro che la politica cinese di repressione e demonizzazione di Sua Santità è controproducente. I tibetani non smettono di fare dimostra-zioni, di rischiare la loro vita, scegliendo la morte piuttosto che l’ulteriore repressione. La perdita di vite è lacerante proprio quanto

la repressione è disumana. Con la nuova leadership cinese in avvio, sarebbe saggio fare qualche seria rivisitazione della situazione. A beneficio di entrambi, tibetani e cinesi, il governo cinese dovrebbero abbandonare la politica di re-pressione ed affrontare le preoccupazioni dei tibetani. per trovare una

via pacifica, di mutuo beneficio.

of young Tibetans in self-immolation.The year 2013 has begun on a sad note for the Tibetan people. The self-immolation toll among Tibetans now stands over a hundred. In Tibet no foreign journalists and independent monitors are allowed to assess the ground situation. As a Tibetan, I understand the pain and suffering, deprived of their freedom to worship their own faith, speak their lan-

guage, practice and promote their culture and identity.Unfortunately, Chinese government is not doing anything to investigate the causes of protest, other than arresting more Tibetans, punishing them with long jail terms, and calling them ‘criminals’ and ‘terrorists. The situation in Tibetan monasteries and nunneries remain dire with re-lentless incidents of arbitrary arrests, detention, disappearance, un-just sentencing of monks and nuns, along with lay Tibetans. Monks below

the age of 18 are even expelled.China’s current policy of repression and demonizing His Holiness is counterproductive. People are holding demonstrations, risking their li-ves, choosing to die than face more repression. Loss of lives is heart-

breaking, just as repression is dehumanizing.As the new Chinese leadership take charge, it would be wise to do some serious review of the situation in Tibet. For the benefit of both Tibe-tans and Chinese, the Chinese government should abandon its repressive policies and address the concerns expressed by the Tibetans, finding a

way forward for a peaceful, mutually beneficial solution.

Dal 2011 il TCV di Dharamsala, oltre ai livelli scolastici base, offre anche la Senior Secondary School Education, con tre indirizzi: umani-tario, commerciale e scientifico, attirando molti studenti. Questo fat-to ha reso necessario l’ampliamento del convitto femminile. L’ingran-dimento a beneficio delle giovani ragazze, ha preso il luogo di una casa per bambini, la quale era andata a fuoco nel maggio 2010. I lavori di smantellamento della casa per bambini -home 29- sono iniziati alla fine del dicembre 2010, subito seguiti dai primi lavori di costruzione nel gennaio 2011. Allo stato attuale i lavori sono terminati, ed il convit-to è attivo. Ospita 88 ragazze suddivise in 22 camere da 4 letti cia-scuna. Tuttavia al momento in alcune camere ne alloggiano 5, arrivando ad un totale di 103 ragazze. L’edificio a tre piani è dotato di 12 ba-gni, di un aula multifunzionale che funge da refettorio e sala per stu-dio, una piccola sala riunioni, una cucina con dispensa, un ripostiglio ed un locale per il guardiano. All’esterno Vi è un un’area verde quale

giardino per le ragazze.Il valore del progetto è di 125.000 euro. I fondi per la ricostruzione sono stati raccolti per il 6% (7.019 euro) tramite delle aste nella primavera del 2011, per l’ 11% (14.195 euro) tramite il numero solida-le dal 20.06.11 al 26.06.2011 grazie al Segretariato Sociale Rai, per il 25% (30.685 euro) grazie alla serata di beneficenza del 25.06.2011, per il 22% (27.109 euro) grazie a donazioni di Ospiti del hotel La Per-

Since 2011 the TCV in Dharamsala is offering a Senior Secondary School Education, further to the basic school levels. The Secondary School has three different streams: humanities, commerce and science, which at-tract many more students than before. This has brought the necessity for an extension of the girl’s hostel. The further space for the girls, has taken the place of a children house, which accidentally burned down in May 2010. The works for the demolition of home 29 have started at the end of December 2010, and have directly been followed by the first building works in January 2011. Right now the building has been comple-ted, and the hostel is active, hosting 88 girls divided in 22 4-bedded rooms. Although at the moment some rooms host 5 girls, reaching a total of 103 girls living at the hostel. The three floored building has 12 bathrooms, a multifunctional area, which is canteen and studying room, a small meeting room, a kitchen and a storage, and a guardian’s quarter.

There is also a green area as a garden for the girls. The project’s value is 125.000 Euros. The funds for the rebuilding have been raised to 6% (7.019 Euros) through the foundation’s auctions in Spring 2011, to 11% (14.195 Euros) through the Solidary Number from June 20th to June 26th, 2011 thanks to the Segretariato Sociale Rai, to 25% (30.685 Euros) through the charity evening at Hotel La Perla on June 25th, 2011, to 22% (27.109 Euros) through the Hotel La Perla fund rai-sing. The missing 37% (46.121 Euros) have been donated freely by founda-

tion’s supporters.

In India i giovani tibetani che vogliono frequentare l’università sono costretti, vista la mancanza di strutture tibetane, di frequentare strutture indiane. Questo fatto li espone fortemente all’influenza di culture non tibetane. In questa loro critica fase di crescita hanno bi-sogno di continuità nello studio della lingua e della cultura tibetana, oltre alle materie di specializzazione da loro scelte. È nata quindi la necessità di una università tibetana, dove gli studenti si possono im-mergere a pieno in quello che è la vera identità tibetana. Per questo il college è una necessità per i giovani tibetani e quindi per il futu-

ro del Tibet intero.Il TCV, attraverso associazioni sparse per il mondo, ha acquistato 37 ettari di terreno nelle vicinanze di Bangalore, nel sud dell’India. Il college ospiterà da 500 a 3.000 studenti tibetani. I ragazzi che arri-vano al college sono o fuggiti direttamente dal Tibet oppure sono nati

in India da genitori tibetani. L’intero progetto del college è molto grande e sarà completo solamente tra alcuni anni. Il nostro compito è stato quello di raccogliere fondi per la costruzione di un piano della palazzina del Girl’s Hostel B-Block, che ospita ragazze tibetane. La superficie totale dello stabile è di 725m², offre ospitalità a 216 studentesse e contiene un piano terra e tre piani. Il piano da noi finanziato è composto da 18 camere per 3 letti ciascuna per un totale di 54 letti, comprensivo di bagni e toilette.

Il valore del nostro progetto è di € 123.500,00. Attualmente il college è attivo ed il progetto è stato concluso nel 2011.

In India, young Tibetans wishing for higher education, are forced to attend Indian colleges, seen the missing of own Tibetan ones. This ex-poses them strongly to non-Tibetan culture influence. In this critical period of growth, they need continuity in the acquisition of the Tibetan language and culture. Therefore the necessity for a Tibetan University, where students can fully dive into the real Tibetan identity, is been born. Like this the college is a necessity for young Tibetans and for

the future of Tibet. Through different associations in the world, the TCV has bought 37 hec-tares of land near to Bangalore, South India. The college will be ho-sting 500 to 3.000 Tibetan students. The students at the college in

Bangalore all come from India and are refugees from Tibet. The whole college project is very big and will be completed only in a couple of years. Our part has been to raise funds for the building of one entire floor at the Girl’s Hostel B-Block, which hosts Tibetan girls. The whole building extends on 725 m². It consists of a ground floor, a first floor, a second floor and a third floor and can accommo-date 216 students. The floor we finance has got 18 three-bedded rooms

with a total of 54 beds including bathrooms and toilets. The value of our project has been of 123.500 Euros. At the moment the

college is active and the project has been completed in 2011.

È stato un anno di nuovi incontri, nuovi pro-getti e nuove sfide e di ulteriori piccoli pas-si fatti insieme.

A maggio ci siamo impegnati impegnandoci per 100.000 euro a favore della comunità locale in Karamoja e a Mukono con i due progetti “Ssezi-bwa Demonstration Farm” e “Due scuole verdi in Karamoja”, in Uganda.Dal 13 al 20 agosto è stata attivata la raccol-ta fondi tramite Numero Solidale, grazie al Segretariato Sociale Rai e le maggiori compa-gnie telefoniche italiane, raccogliendo 2.192 euro, 1.787 euro sono già stati versati sul conto della fondazione, l’importo mancante verrà versato dalle compagnie nei prossimi mesi. Il 19 ottobre la 4° serata di beneficenza si è svolta all’Hotel Armani di Milano, 63 ospiti, 12.320 euro raccolti. A dicembre, all’Hotel La Perla abbiamo presentato i proget-ti attuali ai sostenitori locali, 70 ospiti, 2.350 euro raccolti. Abbiamo poi avviato una raccolta fondi natalizia “Regala un sorriso” a favore del progetto scolastico in Togo, 2.290 euro sono stati donati. Le raccolte fondi alla Boutique Monika di Corvara ed all’Hotel La Per-la hanno raccolto un importo complessivo di 15.293 euro. Le donazioni da parte dei soci benemeriti sono state di 12.510 euro, il 5x1000 ha portato 6.928,67 euro, le donazioni libere 44.158,82 euro.Il totale raccolto nel 2012 è stato quindi di 97.637,49 euro. Il finanziamento dei progetti: sono stati spesi 114.459,78 euro per il finanziamento e la con-clusione del progetto di ampliamento al convit-to femminile nel TCV di Dharamsala, 13.610,18 euro a favore della “Ssezibwa Demonstration Farm” a Mukono e 39.205,17 euro a favore del progetto “Due scuole verdi per il Karamamoja” a Moroto, entrambi in Uganda. Un’ulteriore ver-samento di 34.815,42 euro è stato fatto il 31 gennaio 2013 a favore dei due progetti in Ugan-da e ne seguirà un ultimo di 12.548,59 euro ad aprile 2013. Per il rinnovo del progetto scola-stico in Togo sono stati versati 5.000 euro sul conto della Cuori Grandi onlus il 17 gennaio 2013.

In May we have started the two green projects in Uganda, with a commitment of 100.000 Euros to the benefit of the local community in Kara-moja and Mukono.From August 13th to 20th we have activated the Solidary Number, thanks to the Segretariato So-ciale Rai and the major Italian phone compa-nies, raising 2.192 Euros. So far 1.787 Euros have been wired on the foundation’s account, the missing sum will be sent by the phone com-panies during the next months. On October 19th, the 4th charity evening has taken place at Ar-mani Hotel, Milan. 63 guests, 12.320 Euros rai-sed. In December then, at the Hotel La Perla a project presentation for the local supporters has taken place, 70 guests, 2.350 Euros raised through free donations. Together with Lisa, we have started a Christmas fund raising campaign, “A gift with a smile”, to support the school project in Togo, which has raised 2.290 Euros. Moreover the fund raisings at the Boutique Mo-nika and the Hotel La Perla in Corvara have brought a total of 15.293 Euros. Donations from Commendable Members have been of 12.510 Euros, the 5x1000 action has brought 6.928,67 Euros and the free donations have been a total of 44.158,82 Euros. The total of donations for 2012 has therefore been of 97.637,49 Euros. Giulan, thank you to all of you!

The project funding: 114.459,78 Euros have been spent for the completion of the girl’s hostel extension project at the TCV in Dharamsala. 13.610,18 Euros have gone to sustain the “Sse-zibwa Demonstration Farm” in Mukono and 39.205,17 Euros to the “Two green schools for Karamoja” in Moroto. For these two Uganda projects, further 34.815,42 Euros have been wi-red on January 31st, 2013 and a last payment of 12.548,59 Euros will be done in April 2013. For the renewal of the school project in Togo, 5.000 Euros have been paid to the Cuori Grandi onlus on January 17th, 2013.

La grande famiglia della fondazione.

Gli autoriDavide è coordinatore dei progetti di ISP… in Africa. In Uganda da una

vita, assieme alla gente del posto ha vissuto gli anni tragici quel-li delle guerriglie, delle rivoluzioni, dei kalashnikov, della fame.

Elide è responsabile della Costa Family Foundation o.n.l.u.s. dal 2011. È silenziosa, ma è determinata e risoluta. Non le piace apparire; ma nessuno è bravo come lei a coinvolgere platee.

Gustav Willeit “Gu”, è l’artista che collabora con la fondazione, la accompagna nei viaggi, ne documenta l’attività e lo spirito con grande sensibilità. Gran parte delle foto della gazzetta provengono dal suo archivio.

Joe segue la fondazione dalla sua nascita nel 2007. È la mano materna che ci guida con gentilezza e tanta sensibilità. Segue di prima persona l’ufficio stampa e le comunicazioni della fondazione.

Lisa segue i nostri sostenitori da vicino ed è una super pignola. Le donazioni passano al vaglio tra le sue mani, per arrivare intere ed intatte da chi ne ha bisogno.

Madame Jetsun Pema, o anche Ama La, madre rispettata, è sorella di Sua Santità il XIV Dalai Lama. Dal 1964 segue la formazione dei bambini tibetani esuli in India, quale dirigente del Tibetan Children’s Village.

Manuel cura il dialogo con il Tibetan Children’s Village. Segue i nostri progetti tibetani, ma la sua creatività fa anche da guida preziosa alle nostre serate, ai nostri incontri.

Markus Frings è amico di famiglia e sostenitore della fondazione sin dalla sua nascita. È anche grazie al suo contributo che sono nati due film documentario della fondazione.

Merch segue gli aspetti pratici e anche i meno pratici, la burocrazia, l’organizzazione, il fund raising. È instancabile fonte di idee e come per magia, da piccole riflessioni, fa nascere grandi progetti.

Michil, grazie a lui è nato il progetto della fondazione. Nel 2007 as-sieme ai membri della famiglia, le ha dato vita e ne ha reso possi-bile l’opera.

The authorsDavide is project coordinator of ISP… in Africa. In Uganda since always,

he has lived the tragic years of guerrilla, revolutions, Kalashnikov and hunger side by side with the locals.

Elide is responsible for the Costa Family Foundation o.n.l.u.s. since 2011. Silent, sprightly eyes, sweet attitude, Elide doesn’t like to appear, but as nobody else she manages to move the public.

Gustav Willeit “Gu”, is the artist collaborating with the foundation. He accompanies the trips, documents its activity and spirit with great sensibility. Most of the pictures of this Gazzetta come from his ar-chive.

Joe follows the foundation since its birth in 2007. She is the mother hand which guides us gently and with great sensibility. She is re-sponsible of the foundations press office and communication.

Lisa follows our donators with attention. She screens all the donations with precision, before they arrive entire and untouched to the ones in need.

Madame Jetsun Pema, or “Ama La”, respected mother, is His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s sister, since 1964 she is in charge of exiled Tibetan children’s education in India.

Manuel takes care of the dialogue with the Tibetan Children’s Village. He follows our Tibetan projects, but his creativity is also direc-ting our meetings during the year.

Markus Frings is a family friend and supporter of the foundation since its birth. It is also thanks to his contribution that two documen-tary films about the foundation have been made.

Merch follows the practical and less practical aspects, like bureaucra-cy, organization, fund raising. He is a tireless resource of ideas and like magic, from small thoughts, he gives birth to great projects.

Michil, thanks to him, the foundation project has been born. In 2007, together with his family, he brought the foundation to life and made its work possible.
