Introduction SHREE CEMENT started its journey in the year 1985

with our first plant of 0.6 MTPA at Beawar. Since then it has grown to become a multi-unit, multi-location and the largest cement producer in northern India with a total capacity of 6.8 MTPA.

Shree Cement Limited Registered office & Works is located at Beawar (Raj.) & corporate office at Kolkata.

A coal fired power station is a type of thermal power station that produces electricity, by burning coal to boil water, producing steam which drives a steam turbine, which turns an electric generator.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

A coal plant is the main source of air pollution due to emission of mainly CO2, SO2, & NO2.

Due to emission of such gases the rate of green house effect is increasing day by day that leads to global warming.

The coal plant waste is more radioactive than a nuclear waste so it causes radiation.

Coal burning leads to origination of methyl mercury that is toxic in nature and harmful to those who eat freshwater fish.

It causes Acid Mine Drainage under which pyrite over exposed coal surfaces when comes in contact with water and air then it forms sulfuric acid and pollute the water

E.S.P AS ECOFRIENDLY TOOL

First of all high DC voltage is applied to the discharge electrodes by transformer - rectifier set. This results in to corona formation around the electrode.

When ash particles comes in contact with this corona they get charged, usually with negative polarity.

charged so negatively charged particles will migrate towards the collecting plates.

Then these plates are hammered via rapping system, and particulate get collected in the hoppers.

This result in to ash free flue gas.

USE OF FLY ASH

Fly ash is useful for making bricks, tiles and blocks etc.

It is also useful in making cement. Fly ash can also be used in road

construction, plastering on buildings, agriculture, irrigation etc.

F.G.D.(Flue gas desulphurization):This plant basically converts the SO2 in to

gypsum by some chemical processes, this gypsum is then used with in the cement as setting agent.

Fabric filters(bag house):Gases with dust particles when

enter in to the bag house and pass through fabric bags that act as filters and filtered out and the dust is then collected in to the hoppers.
